Perception Hancheng

Just after enjoying the natural scenery of Jiuse Gannan, I want to go to an ancient town and village where I can feel the charm of ancient style, even if it is shabby and incomplete. Such an old city street bears the imprint of time, traces of years, and more importantly, it carries historical memories.

So, I thought of Dangjia Village, thought of Hancheng and went there.

Hancheng, a historical and cultural city. The place where Sima Qian, a great writer and historian in the Western Han Dynasty, was born and buried. 1500 years' history of building a city has made cultural relics and historic sites spread all over China, with 29 key cultural relics protection units, including 15 national key cultural relics protection units. During the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, the well-preserved temples include Sima Qian Temple, Confucian Temple, City God Temple, Jiulang Temple, Beiying Temple Temple and Dayu Temple, as well as the old street Gu Xiang, Dangjia Village ancient dwellings, Zhixiu Bridge and Liuyuqiao. ...

The theater with carved beams and painted buildings in Chenghuang Temple, the cornices and arches on the avenue in front of the temple, the lifelike brick carvings on the screen wall of Beiying Temple, and the ancient buildings of Confucius Temple and Jiulang Temple all contain profound history and culture, which are living teaching materials for ancient architecture and sculpture art. Experts watch the doorway while laymen watch the excitement. As a tourist, apart from marveling at the grand scale and exquisite carving art of ancient buildings, I can't understand the artistic attainments and historical and cultural values contained in them, nor can I write with humble pens.

Walking into that old street is like crossing just visiting. The streets paved with stone slabs are slightly curved and spread from north to south, and the shops built on both sides during the Ming and Qing Dynasties remain the same. Two-story buildings with brick and wood structure and blue bricks and gray tiles live next to each other, maintaining the original pattern of front shop and back house. The gables in the store are mostly made of wood, and long boards are assembled in the upper and lower wooden troughs, which are unloaded when the store is opened, and the goods in the store are displayed to customers, and then assembled when the store is closed. These old shops are antique in appearance, and the mottled paint marks witness the vicissitudes of the ancient city, which can make people touch the long history of the ancient city.

"Value-for-money, high-grade, flawless goods", "Don't let money contribute to business, why not" ... Most shops on the streets of the ancient city have wooden couplets engraved with red letters or gold characters on the black background, which shows the business philosophy of the merchants and the strong commercial atmosphere of the ancient city, which makes the ancient city reveal a profound cultural heritage. "There are clouds in the stack and no fragrance in the room." This pair of couplets in an ancient inn is neat and beautiful, which makes me stop and ponder for a long time. I have an impulse to live in a shop with a little auspicious atmosphere and take away a wisp of fragrance. In order to find out who wrote this pair of couplets, I looked it up on the Internet, but it was from Sikuquanshu compiled by the royal family in the Qing Dynasty.

Dozens of deep alleys, such as Zhangxiang, Wu Jiaxiang, Jingba Lane, Wanwan Lane and Fozi Lane, are distributed on both sides of the street, connecting the bustling commercial streets of the ancient city with quiet quadrangles and ordinary houses in series. The uneven walls and oozing white salt on both sides of the roadway silently tell the past tourists about the thousand-year wind and rain experienced by the ancient city. From these ancient street names, we can see the function, shape and family distribution of alleys in those days. Most of the residents in the old alley still live in the old brick-and-wood houses left by their ancestors. There is a gatehouse at the gate, family instructions are engraved on the middle board, and masonry carvings are inlaid on the walls on both sides.

Sima Qian Temple is located on a hill in the south of the city 10 km, and it is built by the mountain. From bottom to top, there are several wooden archways and gatehouses built in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, which respectively read: "Sima Gong Temple, the Grand Master of Han Dynasty", "Up the Mountain" and "Yang of the Rivers and Mountains", which are metaphors of Sima Qian's "venerable and respected by the world" and "Moving Longmen to build the Yang of the Rivers and Mountains". There are sacrificial halls, bedrooms and tombs in the temple; Celebrities of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties are engraved on the stone tablets in the courtyard, which are hidden among the towering pines and cypresses, among which there are many famous calligraphy inscriptions. Although Sima Qian's temple is not large in scale, its style is as refined as Sima Qian's character and articles.

There is an ancient road called Sima Po under the temple. According to the records of roadside stone tablets, it was first built in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and it is the main road in Hexi of Jin (Wei) country. After the establishment of the Qin Dynasty, it was the only way for Hancheng and its surrounding areas to reach Chang 'an. The existing stone strips were laid in the Northern Song Dynasty. The original length was 1 500m, but now it is only over 300 m. After more than 300 years of rain erosion, weathering and people's walking and polishing, the originally flat stone strips have been uneven. The clear and numerous ruts on the stone strip are the proof of the once prosperous history here, and it seems to show the bitterness and tragic life of the stone.

Let me say a few more words here. According to the folklore of Hancheng, Tong and Feng in Hancheng are descendants of Sima Qian. When Sima Qian was harmed by the imperial court, in order to escape the enemy's pursuit of future generations, Sima Qian sent his two sons back to their hometown in Hancheng to remain anonymous. Disassembling Sima Fu's surname, the word "four" plus one vertical is the eldest son's surname "Tong", and the word "Ma" plus two points is the second son's surname "Feng". These two surnames have regarded Sima Qian as their ancestors and sacrificed together for hundreds of years.

Walking into Dangjia Village, the oncoming wind has an ancient taste. Gu Xiang paved with river stones, ancient quadrangles, tall gatehouses, lintels, exquisite woodcuts on the zhaobi, elegant rocks in front of the door and solemn ancestral halls of Dangjia Village all tell visitors about the past prosperity and glory of Dangjia Village. The memorial tablet standing beside the village road hides a woman's bitter and sad story under the gorgeous appearance.

Dangjia village is called the living fossil of ancient dwellings in northwest China by relevant experts. With profound cultural connotation and historical accumulation, every brick, stone, grass and tree here exudes a strong ancient flavor.

Hancheng, an ancient city with a long history, numerous cultural relics and cultural landscapes; A place with something to talk about, something to hear and something to see. I want to go again, and I will regret it all my life if I don't go.
