How to photograph the forest in the fog

Autumn and winter are the best time of the year to photograph the foggy forest. Photographer Mark Upfiel met this touching scene on his way home from Skye. Mark explained: "At that time, we drove past the Lagan Dam outside Kenham National Park. My friends want to visit the dam. I decided to wait for them in the car because it was cloudy and rainy outside. Suddenly, there was a gap in the clouds, so the sun set on the steaming water vapor in the Woods. " This spectacle only lasted for 20 seconds, but Mark knew that similar opportunities would appear again. Mark said: "I took out my camera and adjusted the parameters. After waiting for 20 minutes, there were cracks in the clouds, and I got the photos I wanted." Mark used a 3-speed hard-edged gray gradient mirror and adjusted it to an angle that can block the light from overflowing in the upper right corner of the picture. Mark said: "I also have a gradient mirror with soft edges, but the light from the forest is still very strong."
