You don't need to be understood, because that understanding is meaningless.

Key words: understanding, thinking, execution, starting a business? Estimated reading time: 5 minutes

Everyone will encounter a situation-not being understood-which may be behavior, choice, even habit, or thinking mode. Most people will feel a dilemma when facing this problem, because at this time, it will often produce bad results, which may be failure or isolation. However, there are still a few people who don't care about this "not understood" situation at all, but enjoy it.

Saying these two things just wants to express a purpose-things that are not understood often happen, and things that are not understood are not necessarily unreliable. But these two examples are really a little big and a little far from us. In fact, this situation can be seen everywhere in life and work: if you love reading, many people will say that reading is useless; If you like writing, some people will say that you can't be a writer. As soon as I quit, I jumped out and shouted that I was not stable enough and my work could not be stable; You learn to start a business, and a bunch of people behind you say it's too risky, and there are still a bunch of people waiting to see jokes. ...

For myself, I never think that a stable job is a good thing, and I can't accept a job for more than ten years. Because I have been trying to enrich my life, it is torture for me to repeat it day after day. Look at my work experience: as an intern in the credit department of a bank, as a computer apprentice, as a buyer in a supermarket, as an editor in a magazine, as a planner in a media people's alliance, as a planner in a large-scale event, as a partner in an advertising company, as a project planner, as a financing consultant, as a marketing manager in a clothing brand, as a department store manager, as an operator in a brand company, as a market developer in three northeastern provinces, as a marketing director in wedding photography and so on. I have been to five cities and all over the country.

Many people will say after reading it, you are too out of tune and have no career plan. I am not understood at this level. It doesn't matter, I don't care, because what I want to do is not the so-called career planning, but the life planning. Rich experience has given me a deep understanding of many industries. I want to take an industry as an example, let's go deep into the bone marrow and find out the essence of the industry. I believe one day, I will succeed.

These, I believe everyone will sit in the right place and come up with a bunch of examples and experiences that they don't understand. So why write this topic? The reason is that I saw Taleb's wisdom and curse. A short book can be read in a short time, and it seems to be a fragmentary proverb. However, the core content contained in the book is meaningful. Taleb said that he began to think that "abandoning essence and pursuing unprincipled experience and normative behavior" revolved around a Greek myth-the bed of Procrustean. I won't elaborate on the story and the content of the book. You can have a look if you are interested. At the same time, you can also look at his Black Swan and Random Walk for Fools.

Through the core of this book, I have come to a realistic and meaningful conclusion: we don't need to be understood, because that kind of understanding is meaningless. Of course, this kind of "not being understood" has a premise. If you kill and set fire, no one will understand you. Only the law will treat you well. The "no need to understand" here is an act that conforms to the first principle and is finally transformed into execution after careful consideration. This is amazing. I'm a little confused after writing it myself. Let's break this sentence down:

Initial goal priority principle

What are the basic principles? In fact, it is to stick to the original goal-it can also be called the initial heart. This "first principle" is quite popular recently, so I used it directly. Simply put: whatever you do, you should act around a core goal.

Your goal is to become a writer and publish a novel. You don't need to understand constant reading and writing. Say what others like, because reading and writing are effective ways to realize your dream as a writer. Of course, you can even do something more "excessive", such as wandering, which I think is incomprehensible.

Of course, this is around the big goal of life. What about going back to the small goal? For example, for a specific project, you only need to consider the initial goal of the project. Take a push activity as an example. If the core goal is to improve brand reputation, then how much your free experience costs is worth it. It is meaningless for any department to complain to you, because you have to ensure that the initial goal is achieved. At this time, you only need to be responsible for the goal, not for the understanding of others, especially the financial department (of course, you have to reach an agreement with the BOSS first).

So how can we realize the first principle? How can we accurately grasp a clear goal? This requires a powerful weapon-thinking.

Deep thinking-the essence of the problem

In fact, many problems are at several levels. Most people tend to see only the superficial things. A few people can enter the middle level, and very few people can see the essence of the problem.

For example, what do you think of entrepreneurship in the catering industry? Most people think that this is a traditional industry with profit margins, but it needs to control costs, so it is best to manage and purchase with their own families, so many restaurants are mom-and-pop stores or larger family stores; A few people will clearly analyze that the catering industry is a service industry and can be made into a standardized chain, so there are many chain catering companies, such as Kungfu and Grandma's. Finally, there are very few people who will regard the catering industry as an experience economy and do differentiated marketing until they jump out of the shackles of catering and realize an experience economy or even a concept economy, such as Haidilao and Diaoye beef brisket.

Will you think of Xu zhēng and Wang's Sorry here? There is a bridge in it: Wang plays the role of making scallion cake, which sells well. After the analysis of Xu zhēng, this project can be listed. But when it comes to the core issue, Wang said, "I have to make my own formula." Xu zhēng concluded: "You have been making scallion cakes all your life." This is a question of thinking.

The same opportunity, when the initial goal you set for it has been restricted, the final result can only be the result of that restriction. At the same time, it must be clear that most people will be limited because they will not think deeply and are only satisfied with superficial problems and concepts. At this time, if you think deeply, you often don't understand. You should be clear: this kind of incomprehension doesn't matter, because they don't understand completely different levels of thinking.

So how did you get this thinking ability? There is no trick, just thinking over and over again. The same problem, repeatedly scrutinize and polish, don't stay on the shallow surface. There is a very practical example about this problem in Li Xiaolai, that is, when you lie in bed and look at the ceiling, it's all white at first. Slowly, you will find some small black spots, and then you may find some dark lines. Finally, you may add light and shadow, and some pictures will appear ... at first, the ceiling is white. I did the same thing when I was a child, so I have a deep understanding.

The same is true of thinking. In your constant tempering, you will continue to deepen until you think about the core of the problem and finally grasp your first principle. And we often think about the level of the first principle, and we will clearly combine the goals and needs. What should I do next for a goal with clear needs?

Practical plan-execution

When we determine the core goal through in-depth thinking, we enter another stage-implementation. In fact, this is also the most important step, because no matter how good the idea is, as long as you don't act, it is an empty idea. You want to be a writer, and then you think and conceive all day, but you just don't write. Then when you really want to write, you will find that you may not even understand a decent sentence.

Including the core of this article is also closely related to execution, because when you act, resistance will appear. How to stop this most critical step? That's why I took "You don't need to be understood" as the topic. Smile when people who don't understand you appear-that understanding is meaningless, so don't care.

With this judgment, we will be more determined when we act. Moreover, only actions based on this kind of thinking are more valuable and more likely to be close to the original goal. Blind actions often produce people who have been busy all their lives, but can't change their lives at all, because without in-depth thinking to determine their goals, all actions are almost ineffective or even counterproductive.

A staunch minority

The starting point of the marathon was crowded with people. It really doesn't matter at this time. It doesn't matter if you lose or not. When you start running, many people will run together for a while and gradually pull away; After halfway, there may be no one around you; In the end, you are just racing yourself. All you have to achieve is your own goal, just like the origin of the marathon: to commemorate the messenger who delivered the good news, and his faith supported him to complete the feat of running back to Athens from the marathon in one breath.

Stick to your goal, you must be lonely, only a few people can accompany you, and the understanding of most people will not lead you to success, because that understanding is often limited thinking. Taleb's point of view is that we often ignore the essence of the problem because of some so-called rules and experiences. For example, if there is something wrong with education, we are not studying how to develop educational means suitable for children, but studying the incentive policies for changing textbooks, systems and teachers. This is a typical system constraint. Mark Twain also said: It is not ignorance that gets us into trouble, but seemingly correct fallacies. Isn't the so-called "seemingly correct fallacy" exactly what most people understand?

Finally, an American named Patterson, whose contribution is to remove lead from chemical products such as fuel oil, has made great contributions and saved countless children. However, his life was not brilliant, because he hindered interest groups, was constantly suppressed, and had no financial support. However, he persisted in his career and finally successfully removed lead from products such as fuel. His behavior is not understood, but now we know who he doesn't understand and why.

If you are an entrepreneur, you must resolutely become a firm minority, stay away from fallacies and make brilliant achievements;

If it is the workplace, avoid the influence of incomprehension, strengthen the will and reflect the value;

If you love life, you don't need to consider other people's opinions, satisfy your family and lover and make them happy;

If you have been growing, then you just need to pursue that initial heart without distractions until you succeed. ...

Be an incomprehensible minority. Your persistence and actions will be richly rewarded, whether it is career or life, love or life. ...
