Lu Shuming (August 15, 1956 - November 1, 2022) was born in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. His ancestral home is Yantai, Shandong Province. He is an actor and assistant director in Mainland China. In 1983, he starred in his film and television debut "The Man in the Desert". In 1986, he starred in the war movie "The Suppression of Bandits in Western Hunan". In 1989, he starred in the costume fantasy love movie "Ancient and Modern War between Qin Terracotta Warriors". On October 23, 1994, he starred as Guan Yu in the costume drama "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", which attracted attention.

In May 2012, he began to serve as a judge for the talent show "Avenue of Stars" on CCTV's Variety Channel. In 1966, his family moved to Weinan, Shaanxi with his father, who supported the construction of northwest China, and studied at Weinan Xi'an Road Primary School. After graduating from elementary school, Lu Shuming studied at Jiefang Road Junior High School. With his height advantage, he became the main player of the school basketball team. Later, on the recommendation of the music teacher, he joined the school propaganda team to sing Peking Opera, and gradually fell in love with opera.

At the age of 14, he came up with the idea of ??becoming a professional Peking Opera actor. It happened that that year the Shaanxi Provincial Drama Troupe was recruiting students in the Weinan area. When he asked his father to apply, he encountered strong opposition from his father and had to give up. After graduating from middle school, he joined the Shaanxi Youth Basketball Team to play. Later, he engaged in aerial photography in the 630 Institute of the Ministry of Aerospace.

In 1980, the Xi'an Theater opened its recruitment program to the general public. At the request of the neighbor's aunt, Lu Shuming accompanied his neighbor's sister to Xi'an to take the exam. He saw Lu Shuming who was accompanying him for the examination. Out of professional sensitivity, Guo Da felt that Lu Shuming was a good actor.
