Time

There are many varieties of azaleas in Shangri-La, including white azaleas as clear as jade, warm yellow azaleas, pink azaleas as gentle as water, and enchanting purple azaleas. They grow in patches beside rocks in mountains and forests, which is a spectacular sight.

Pudacuo National Forest Park

"Pudacuo" is Tibetan, meaning "God helps us to reach the other side of the lake by boat". It is the first country in mainland China garden. Every year at the turn of spring and summer, the mountain woods and meadows here are filled with countless beautiful azaleas.

There is also a magical legend about the azaleas on the banks of Bitahai Lake - "Cuckoo Drunken Fish". Because the petals of azaleas are slightly poisonous, the petals fall into the lake wherever the wind blows. If eaten by naked carp, they will float on the lake surface as if they were drunk, so this spectacle occurs.

Baima Snow Mountain

The majestic Yunling Mountains belong to the Hengduan Mountains, with continuous peaks and white snow. Looking from a distance, the main peak covered with snow all year round looks like a galloping white horse, hence the name " White Horse Snow Mountain".

The alpine rhododendron forests on the snow-capped mountains are rich in species and are called “the cradle of north temperate flora” by botanists. Rhododendron azaleas, golden-backed azaleas, silver-backed azaleas, Weihua azaleas, microleaf azaleas and other alpine Rhododendron plants will all appear here.

In 2005, the Rhododendron Forest in Baima Snow Mountain was rated as one of the "Top Ten Most Beautiful Forests in China" by "China National Geographic".

Bigu Tianchi

Compared with other attractions in Shangri-La, many people are unfamiliar with Bigu Tianchi.

The average water depth of Bigu Tianchi is only 1.62 meters, and the deepest point is only about 3 meters. Although the lake is not big and not deep, it is strangely quiet and strangely clear.

This clear and transparent lake seems to be the world of colorful flowers, plants and trees surrounding it, holding up a pure heart and soul.

Azaleas in Yangtangqu bloom everywhere from May to July, and a dream journey begins in an ancient Tibetan village. People ride yak boats down the river and enjoy the charming plateau scenery on both sides of the river.

Xiaozhongdian

Xiaozhongdian is located in the alpine dam area and has a large area of ??lush grassland. From late May to mid-June every year, this place becomes a sea of ??flowers, with colorful azaleas and galsang flowers blooming all over the hillside.
