Reflections on teaching essays: reasonable imagination, artistic processing

At the back of the text on Little Photographer, there is a short exercise to continue writing a story. When I first saw this exercise, I was a little afraid of it. Since it is a continuation, I cannot simply explain in a few words whether the little boy is back or not. The photo is taken. How to let students use their imagination to make the story vivid, interesting and reasonable?

Before writing, I asked the children to talk about it and discussed it in groups, hoping that the students would interact with the students. The collision of thoughts inspires each other. So in this process, what can I do as a classroom organizer and guide? What role can I play?

The design of the after-school exercise of continuing to write the text should first be based on what is described in the text. People, things, and objects raise various questions, thereby generating curiosity and a desire to guess the content. Secondly, creatively imagine and extend the suspenseful plots to develop the flexibility of thinking. In order to effectively achieve the purpose of this training point, I arranged three processes for the whole class:

 (1) Discussion

1 Gorky hopes that the little boy will come again. Will the little boy come again?

2. When the little boy quickly goes home to get the film and comes back, what will the guard say? How to do it? 3. When the little boy and Gorky meet again, what will they say? What to do? ?

4 How did the little boy take a picture of Gorky? What did Gorky do?

5 If you think the little boy will never come again, guess what the reason is?

This link is conducted through group discussions and reports by representatives. On the one hand, it trains students’ oral expression skills. On the other hand, it connects with the text content to deepen their understanding of the storyline and pave the way for the next step of creative imagination. .

(2) Let’s talk about it

Grandpa Gorky is a world-famous writer. Time is very precious to him, but he still hopes that the little boy will come. In this link, students are asked to give full play to their imagination based on the text content, and combined with the discussion just now, ask the group representative to verbally express the follow-up content of the story. While the representative told the story, I mainly guided the audience to pay attention to whether the speaker's imagination was reasonable and what parts of it were well said. One of the students commented: I think he said that Gorky was still thinking about the little boy, and he was still thinking about it very absorbedly. It shows that Gorky has always cared about the little boy. Gorky in the article is indeed like this, which is very reasonable. Others said: He used words such as first, then last, etc. to indicate the order of time, very accurately. An attentive little girl actually said: Look, lift, fiddle, and adjust are all words in the text. It would be good for Wang Zirui to learn them and use them in his own compositions.

Mutual evaluation is a way to train students to improve their oral expression ability, mainly to reflect the purpose of speaking teaching. At the same time, innovative potential is stimulated through group discussions.

(3) Write

This step is mainly the process of written expression. Through discussion and oral presentation, students already have a complete and intuitive representation in their minds. Next, express the intuitive appearance in words, and it will become a personalized composition.

I think there should be a section of essay review (discussion) at the end. Due to time constraints, I could not finish revising the essay last week. I will select a class next week for text review. On the one hand, it stimulates students' desire to write by commenting on excellent articles. On the other hand, it also enables students to inspire creative inspiration from other people's compositions and enrich children's imagination.
