Bird photographer

In Orson, there was a scene where a group of photographers with long guns and short guns stood by the bridge, gathered around the stream or on the wooden plank road to shoot something, and photographed the sun coming home from sunrise. What fascinates them so much?

Orson's bird.

Among the photographers who came to Orson to shoot birds, there are many stories about birds and Orson: at the end of 2020, the marijuana mackerel arrived as scheduled. It is said that this marijuana mackerel, which was injured in Orson but rescued in Orson, will return to Orson every year from 20 15, and the birdwatchers waiting in Orson will arrive as scheduled every year; Orson has an ordinary suzaku, whose feather has fallen off and is mistaken for dyed. Later, it appeared to the public with full wings and beautiful fur. When it landed on the branch, it looked so confident and fearless. Once a photographer photographed a quail in Orson, so many photographers rushed to hear the news. As a result, most people who surprised quail flew away than those who photographed quail. Horned larks and seagulls appeared for the first time in Orson Park, which provoked bird photographers to snap pictures crazily. A brightly colored warbler photographed in Orson attracted people to look around. ...

In the winter of 2020-202 1, Orson had a saying that made bird photographers relish: "Do you know? Aurora can safely spend the winter in Orson's reeds this year, and black pheasant and ordinary crake have also found a stable home in Orson's reeds this winter. "

Why did Orson cut reeds a few years ago? In this regard, we specifically asked Wang Jun, director of landscape engineering department of Beijing World Olympic Forest Park Development and Management Co., Ltd., about Orson's arrangement of wetland reeds.

Wang Jun said that up to now, bird watchers have observed more than 300 species of birds in the Olympic Forest Park, and quite a few of them will live in reeds.

Wang Jun said that reeds are cut every year for two reasons. The main reason is that the wetland system in Orson Park is an artificial wetland, and its water supply is completely reclaimed water, and there is no natural water supply and drainage, so it can basically be considered as a stagnant pool, and the water quality is easy to be oxidized, and the contents of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are higher than normal natural water bodies. In order to maintain the water quality of the wetland, a large number of aquatic plants such as reeds and lotus flowers are planted on the wetland. These aquatic plants absorb rich nutrients in the water and reduce the accumulation of nutrients in the water, which is of great benefit to maintaining the water quality. In winter, these withered aquatic plants need to be removed and transported away, otherwise the plants will naturally rot in the water, which is equivalent to returning nutrients to the water.

The second reason is the consideration of fire prevention in winter. Orson is a forest park in Beijing, with many tourists. Orson's dried reeds are flammable, so fire prevention is very important. A cigarette butt and a spark of tourists will cause irreparable losses. Therefore, fire prevention in winter in reed area is very important. Orson will leave some reeds for birds to hide when cutting reeds last winter. From the point of view of fire prevention, the area left is not large enough.

Director Wang Jun said that before cutting reeds in the winter of 2020, she took the initiative to find a bird expert from the Friends of Nature Wild Birds Association. At the suggestion of bird experts, Orson arranged to cut reeds three times. The first time was when the reeds dried up in early winter. This time, it is mainly to cut off the reeds that tourists can easily reach and easily cause fires, and cut out an effect similar to a fire zone, and then the remaining reeds can be left to birds. The second time was in the following spring, before the new reed grew, most of the winter migratory birds living in Orson reed had flown away, but the summer migratory birds did not come, so that the growth of fresh reed would not be affected; The third reed cutting time is arranged at the end of spring every year, and a batch of reeds are cut before birds nest and reproduce. This time, it is mainly to repair reeds that grow too densely in a small area, which will affect the growth of other aquatic plants, and provide various habitats for different birds and small animals.

In addition, in winter, many bird lovers are not only worried about where birds live, but also about whether birds have enough food and whether they should be artificially fed. In view of this, Wang Jun said, "I was once asked if Orson didn't prepare some food for birds in winter. What is our attitude towards birds? We want to protect, an important aspect of protection is to minimize the interference to birds, whether managers or tourists. Feeding is also a disturbance to birds. So try to keep a distance from the birds and observe them, but don't disturb them. "

Wang Jun further explained: "Migratory birds flying to Orson have their own choices about nature. Winter here is not suitable for cold, and it may move south, which is a normal change of natural ecological environment. Humans get some old corn and other foods for birds in winter. Birds think there is food here and they can stay, but this is misleading to birds. When the weather is really cold, there are many other reasons why birds are left in a certain place, not just food. For example, this low temperature is not suitable for some birds. Therefore, Orson will plant all kinds of food-borne plants according to the laws of nature, and provide more natural food for the birds who choose to stay here, so that the birds can feed themselves. The bird that should fly away, let it fly away. "
