Children's photography skills

When taking pictures of children, you should be very careful to ensure that every photo becomes the best portrayal of childhood. The following are the children's photography skills I shared. Let's have a look.

Leave a margin when shooting.

Children are active by nature. Although their laughter, shouts and playful voices will make you want to pick up the camera, you only have a short time to find the right position. Just now, you can see the child in the center of the viewfinder. After a few seconds, you can only see half of your head. To be on the safe side, it is better to choose a wider range of lenses. Because, you can edit it on the computer and cut out the unnecessary parts of the photo. With the help of various popular photo editing software, this function is easy to realize: first, select the "cut" tool in the toolbar, and then use it to select the parts that need to be kept. Next, you just need to double-click the mouse to cut off the edge of the photo.

Avoid ugly shadows

Using flash directly in front of people will leave a shadow on the wall. You can use an exposure time of at least 1/30 seconds or longer to reduce this effect. Of course, a better choice is to use an external flash and aim it at the ceiling. In this way, the light will become divergent after reflecting from the ceiling, so it will not leave a shadow behind the child. If you don't have this condition, you can put a piece of white paper with a 45 angle in front of the built-in flash to achieve a similar effect.

Correctly shoot the activities organized by the school.

Usually, when the weather is fine during the summer vacation, the school will organize a summer outing. You can take this opportunity to take pictures of your classmates and their friends. They should stand sideways or with their backs to the sun. In addition, in order not to make your face look too dark, you should also use a flash. In this case, the sensor of the camera will measure the light of the background and the subject respectively. The camera will determine the correct shutter and aperture combination value according to the background and flash, in which the flash only enhances the brightness of the foreground.

If you want to take pictures of children indoors, you have to be prepared before shooting. The function of the built-in flash of portable camera is not very strong, and the range of action is very limited. If your camera has a high ISO setting, you can even give up the flash and use soft indoor light to shoot the most natural effect.

Aim at the child's face.

Pay attention to small-scale shooting when shooting, such as the smiling face in the above picture should be placed in the center of the photo. The head doesn't have to be completely visible, you can choose the upper part. It is important that you clearly show the details of your eyes. By using the focal length of 105mm (equivalent to the focal length of a 35mm camera), distortion can be avoided, which not only reduces the depth of field, but also maintains the most natural proportion of the characters.

Ideal photo background

You should try to take your child to a very suitable background to shoot. For this reason, you may choose a familiar place, such as a children's playground or a garden. You don't have to force children to finish filming when they dig bunkers or play on swings. In addition, the seaside on vacation or the Woods in the afternoon are the most suitable shooting locations. When children play by the lake or in the Woods, they are completely integrated into the beautiful environment. In order to complete the shooting, you should take a serious view, and you can choose a smaller aperture value. Doing so can increase the depth of field, and the subject can better blend into the background, so that the photo will appear more vivid. The camera's "automatic" shooting mode can achieve everything.
