Qi Jun’s life story

Qi Jun (1918~2006), formerly known as Pan Xizhen, was born in Yongjia, Zhejiang. His father had been an official for many years and liked to collect ancient books, inscriptions, calligraphy and paintings, and his family had a rich collection of books. Due to her family's influence, she loved literature since she was a child. When she was six years old, her father hired a tutor to teach her classical literature.

While studying at Hangzhou Hongdao Girls' Middle School, I read a large number of modern literature and foreign literary works, and began literary creation. After graduating from high school, he was admitted to the Chinese Literature Department of Zhijiang University with excellent results, and became a favorite student of Xia Chengtao, a giant in the literary world. Qi Jun studied ancient books with Mr. Xia, chanted poems and wrote lyrics. He was deeply influenced by his knowledge and personality, and gained profound attainments in poetry.

When she graduated from college, the Anti-Japanese War broke out. She traveled to Shanghai, Yongjia and other places. She experienced many hardships and deeply felt the pain of the destruction of her country and her family. He came to Taiwan in 1949 and served successively as Chief of the Records Section of the High Procuratorate and Chief of the Editorial and Review Section of the Ministry of Justice. He retired from the Ministry of Justice in 1969 and taught in the Chinese Department of National Central University and National Chung Hsing University, teaching old and new literature.
