What the hell is the Chinese University of Hong Kong Shenzhen?

I am a freshman applying for Shenzhen University this year. As an experienced person, my family and I also looked up a lot of information through official channels and asked a lot of people, hoping to give reference to my schoolmates and parents and to clear up some misunderstandings.

First of all, CUHK Shenzhen University Campus, as a new mode of running schools in Hong Kong and the Mainland, is more of an innovation, which is different from traditional universities within the system and British education in Hong Kong. In terms of teaching quality and development prospects, there is little difference between Shenzhen and the headquarters, and the quality of students in Shenzhen branch is also very good in terms of the mainland. After all, the worst candidates are those with a medium level of 985. The picture below shows the investment line of last year. According to our teacher, this year's minimum line has exceeded the old famous Sun Yat-sen University by 20 points, and some provinces are equal to Fudan Zhejiang University.

Although the admission score alone can't explain anything, it at least proves that the quality of students here will not be lower than that of traditional top universities. Of course, when it was first established, the scores were not particularly high, and the tuition fees were not cheap (because the professors were too expensive, except for a few Nobel Prize winners and a Turing Prize winner, all the other professors were doctoral graduates from Stanford, Harvard and Hong Kong University).

2. With regard to teaching, except for some courses of interest, all other courses are taught in Britain, and the teachers are also teachers of the University of Hong Kong. Needless to say, the three universities in Shenzhen, the South Campus of Shenzhen University and Shenzhen University of Hong Kong, are all schools with excellent hardware conditions. The dormitory is simple and European, with 24-hour air conditioning and a separate bathroom. It's simply not too good. In addition, since this month, the Xin Ping Campus, with a capital contribution of 6,543,800 yuan from the Shenzhen Municipal Government, has been officially opened, and its facilities have completely surpassed those of other schools. Of course, in addition to a good undergraduate background, in terms of the level of graduate schools, CUHK Shenda can also be compared with Tsinghua Shenda and Peking University Shenda.

Thirdly, as for the system, since Shenzhen Campus is located in the Mainland, it is different from the system of CUHK Headquarters, and we can clearly see the epitome of one country, two systems from the two campuses. The student union of CUHK headquarters has long been famous for its Hong Kong capital and extreme right, while the campus of Shenzhen University is very moderate and free, and there are no organizations such as the X and XX committees of mainland universities (as everyone knows). Everyone's remarks about democracy and freedom are objective, rational and well-founded.

In addition, the school often invites some big coffee in the industry to hold lectures, some of them belong to the national think tank, and some are Chinese from the Federal Reserve. For example, Dr. Charles Engel of the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Ambrogio Cesar-Bianchi of the Bank of England, and Dr. Galina Hale, senior adviser of the Federal Reserve in San Francisco, etc.

Usually, some social parties, high-table dinners, concerts and so on will be held irregularly. I think this is what we will see on TV. The students are all dressed up, and they feel weak when they go to college. Many famous people will be present, and we can also have the honor to participate in activities with them, such as Alan Tam, Xie Xian, Hawick Lau and William Chan.

In 20 17, CUHK(SZ), as the only mainland institution of higher learning invited by the organizing committee of Suntech Global Case Competition, will compete with 1 1 the world's top business schools, such as Wharton Business School in the United States and copenhagen business school in Northern Europe. Campus industry often holds calligraphy, painting and photography activities. Personally, I think the inheritance of China culture is at least much better than that of my alma mater. This year, The Chinese University of Hong Kong has established exchange programs with many well-known foreign universities, such as Cambridge University, which I personally like very much.

In addition, we often ask whether the degree certificates in Shenzhen and our headquarters are the same. The answer is that the degree certificates of the two campuses are issued by the Hong Kong Chinese Headquarters in Hong Kong, and both will be signed by the principal, Mr. Shen Zuyao, but the study place will be indicated in Hong Kong Chinese (Shenzhen University). For overseas students from China in Hong Kong, the two campuses are independent and different, but I don't think we should sell ourselves short whether we are studying in Shenzhen or Hong Kong. After all, even a good school needs personal efforts. I have to admit that Hong Kong headquarters is indeed much stronger than Shenzhen in some aspects, but I believe that with the efforts of Shenzhen students, these gaps will become smaller and smaller.

Finally, I want to say that there are many discussions about Hongkong, China and Shenzhen. I hope everyone can look at the problem objectively and rationally in the dispute. For a few students in Hong Kong campus, even if you have bad feelings, we won't resent it because of the so-called "red", because equality and freedom, seeking common ground while reserving differences and helping each other are the main purposes of the establishment of this new campus.
