Why don't designers want to be called artists?

Traditionally, the artist's job is only to beautify the appearance and decorate the typesetting. Nowadays, designers have obvious influence on the design of commercial products and corporate image. So calling a designer an artist sounds a bit demeaning to the work and contribution of a designer, and people naturally don't like it.

Similarly, programmers can laugh at themselves as "code farmers", but if other people who are not "code farmers" call themselves that, it's over. In Zootopia, the leopard police officer said Judy was cute when he first met her. Judy is embarrassed to say that rabbits can be cute, and other animals are embarrassed to say that rabbits are cute. For example, you damn fool, nigger ... sometimes it's a friendly name or a first name, sometimes it's not. ......

Some people like to call designers artists because they don't know anything about design, but they do meet many artists and people who pretend to be designers. The first two points are easy to understand, and the third point is mainly analyzed.

People have a strange habit. For some unfamiliar fields, things in this field will be simplified. For example, a photographer is a photographer, a calligrapher is a writer, an athlete is a runner, a painter is a painter, and a fashion designer is a tailor.

Simplifying a person's career is disrespectful to others, and it reveals a message: I don't know this line of work and have a heavy prejudice against areas I don't know. Many designers can only smile and express helplessness when they hear the word art, because they can't ask laymen to understand areas they don't understand.

The artist's job is quantification, and the designer's job is quality. What does the artist's job mean: cutting drawings in batches, applying templates in batches and deducting drawings in batches. Guaranteed time does not guarantee quality. It is possible for these people to fake in batches. Most importantly, this job is not considered by many people.

Designers are different. They are recognized as people with design ideas. Have the right to think, have the ability to influence customers' aesthetics and be responsible for brand image. A real designer will naturally make people respect his works. I don't want to be called an artist, because I don't think my works get enough respect and praise.
