Something about fujiNo.1Double Flagship

I've always wanted to write about photographic equipment, but I haven't started writing yet. Because I feel that writing equipment as an equipment party is inevitably somewhat objective, not to mention that there are enough soft and hard articles in the world for reference, so I won't write them. With the passage of time, I gradually began to look at these working tools objectively according to my own needs, instead of advocating performance-based theory. As a result, this article was written smoothly.

Looking back on 20 14 years, because Fuji's next-generation flagship model X-PRO 1 was delayed for two years, Fuji opened a new product line-XT series for reinforcement. Because the performance of X-T 1 is excellent enough, many people speculate that X-pro series will rise in Quan Huafu in the future, leaving the flagship position of APS-C to XT series. However, two years later, X-pro2 was released in APS-C format, and last month, X-T2 was released in APS-C format. At this point, the layout of Fuji's dual flagship product line was officially confirmed.

So today we will talk about two flagship models of Fuji, X-Pro2 and X-T2.

The first is some places that may not be noticed at ordinary times:

1. Both have the same theoretical performance. Using the same processing chip and CMOS, X-T2 has one more power-on handle than X-Pro2, which can improve continuous shooting speed and shooting interval (time lag). However, as long as the high performance mode is turned on inside the fuselage, the X-T2 focusing speed and EVF refresh rate can be improved without the booster handle. There is a misunderstanding on the Internet that you need an energy booster handle at 4 o'clock.

2. Fuji's 2,400 W pixel X-TransIII has been identified as Sony A6300 (using copper wire for the first time), but Fuji magically changed it (not just changing the array).

3. The dual-core Cortex A7 of the new processor X Processor Pro is clocked at 500MHZ, and its processing speed is more than three times that of the second-generation model.

4.X-T2 is stronger in focusing. Although Fuji will release the firmware on June 5438+ 10, the focusing performance of the X-Pro2 will be improved. The updated content is mainly to change the original algorithm of 1/3 phase focusing +2/3 contrast focusing to 2/3 phase focusing+1/3 phase focusing, but it will not reach the height of X-T2, because Fuji.

5.XF35 1.4 has always been the hardest hit area for Fuji lens focusing, and the industry has always believed that Fuji will update the second generation in the near future. However, in the interview with Fuji in Dpreview, I found that Fuji said that the fast focusing of large aperture lenses could not be guaranteed because of lens design and motor, so I was pessimistic about the possibility of Fuji updating the old batch of large aperture lenses in a short time, and I was likely to see XF33 1.

6. After the release of 6.XF23 2.0 (and possibly XF50 2.0), Fuji may give priority to some telephoto, fisheye and shifting axes. (Personally, I think it is better to update the large aperture and slightly improve the second linear Jiao Wai. )

7.X-Pro2 will not have 4K, and X-T2 can directly simulate the 4K video in the machine.

8. With the replacement of new processors, Fuji can develop more new movie simulations. Similarly, due to the insufficient performance of the old processing chip, the old model can not be obtained by updating the firmware, such as the latest ACROS.

9. The focus rocker is still a little small. Here I want to praise Canon. The joystick on the 7D feels very real. I have used the best one so far. But small is small, and something is better than nothing. (Sony just doesn't add a rocker to the E-port model. )

10. Finally, turntable locking is not an anti-human compulsory use. Now it's time to press the lock, and then press the lock. This is very important. It is difficult to impose a turntable lock on each turntable under the idea that the parameters of the film camera can be adjusted by the turntable. Just like every door in the house needs a key to open.

The panel of EVF is 1 1. X-Pro2 or LCD. Compared with organic light emitting diodes, the contrast is low and the high light level is not good. Why can't Fuji produce an organic light-emitting diode? At least it is the flagship model. Only Fuji's X-T series uses organic light-emitting diodes.

12 ISO dial. X-Pro2 adopts the design ideas of the past film era. However, after it is hoisted, there is no gear, and it changes endlessly. Moreover, the window rotates with the shutter dial, and the feel and experience are not as refreshing as most people think, and it is not as easy to use as the independent dial of X-T2. It would be nice if fujinon added a T gear to the ISO turntable.

13 screen. X-Pro2 has reached1620,000 pixels, which is excellent, while X-T2 is still only1040,000 pixels, which is quite incomprehensible.

Official website has all other basic parameters, so I won't go into details here. Personally, I think most of the photos taken are documentary, and the third generation models of Fuji (these two models at present) have been able to meet my shooting needs to a great extent. Many people despise Fuji for not shooting X-Pro2 4K, and its performance is not fully developed. However, in fact, how many users who will choose X-Pro2 will have the need to record 4K video? Fuji's two flagship models have a clear division of labor-humanistic documentary, giving it to X-Pro2, commercial omnipotence, giving it to X-T2, one doing still photography honestly, and the other trying to meet various extreme requirements. The only thing Fuji lacks is the dot mentioned above. Fortunately, Fuji has always been a company that listens to users' needs and constantly improves, which I am not worried about.

As for 4K or focusing, this is a trade-off. Sony A6000 can achieve a continuous shooting of 1 1 per second without a handle, but the ammunition runs out in 3-4 seconds, and the buffer is insufficient to enter a weak state. After the X-T2 is connected to the handle, continuous shooting can last for 6-7 seconds. The video overheating problem of A6300 4K has always existed for unknown reasons, but the X-T2 10 minute 4K without handle has not overheated. (It can be recorded for 20 minutes with the handle) So, can you say that the technology of any company must be better than that of any other company? In fact, it is more about the trade-offs made by different companies in the face of performance and endurance. Just choose what you need. Technology is always improving, but it is not necessarily the best every time.

When it comes to concentration, it's just my personal opinion. Because I have been using manual lens since I started to learn photography, I have never felt subjectively about the performance of autofocus. But I personally care more about whether the focusing system of the machine is "smart" than the focusing speed. The advantage of manual focusing is that it doesn't matter if you choose the focus. I just let the target object enter the depth of field. As for the speed of turning the focus ring, as long as you practice more, it will always be fast. But when I give the focus to the camera, the focusing system can correctly understand my thoughts, and it is particularly important to focus on the right target accurately. No matter how fast you focus, it's no use finding the right target. Although you can choose the focus manually, it is always difficult to do it overnight. This is one of the reasons why I haven't been exposed to the automatic lens. Not all lenses and cameras focus so reliably.

In street shooting, the parameters are often adjusted before shooting. You can't take pictures after lifting the camera, then choose the shutter speed, adjust the aperture, make sure the ISO is suitable, and then press the shutter. Sweeping the street is like fighting, and many precious moments are often fleeting. Under this premise, it is one thing to make a reasonable prediction in advance, and it is also important for the camera to quickly enter the combat state at the moment of capturing. Of course, the stronger the performance, the better.

Believe me, most excellent street photographers don't use Canon 1 dxi for close combat. ......

Therefore, the existence of Fuji non-reflex system will always have its significance, and the operating concept of instruction dial will never be out of date in street shooting. At least for me, it is intuitive and easy to use, which helps me adjust the parameters in advance (even when wandering in the street). X-Pro2' s paraxial OVF allows users to predict the objects that are about to enter the framing range in advance when shooting. At the same time, paraxial framing makes the zoom head only move the frame line when zooming, which really pleases me. You know, when I use DSLR and a mirrorless camera with pure EVF, I never like to use zoom lenses. Of course, this involves the problem of usage habits, which will not be discussed here for the time being. X-T2 has excellent EVF and focusing performance, which makes it an absolutely reliable snapshot machine on the street. (Fuji: Actually, our original intention was to let you play on the sports ground ...)

Then, I only have enough money to buy a camera. How do I choose between X-Pro2 and X-T2?

1. I like paraxial modeling and choose X-Pro2. I like warship SLR modeling and choose X-T2.

2. Full-time documentary humanistic photography, X-Pro2' s paraxial modeling can minimize your threat on the street, and excellent hybrid viewfinder can also let OVF lovers find the best shooting method. And if you are more inclined to shoot portraits, flowers and birds, or even sports themes, then X-T2 is naturally a more suitable choice for you, but other brands also have more suitable powerful models for you to choose from, which is another story. If you need street shooting at the same time, but don't like taking pictures with ovf, then X-T2 is definitely a better choice.

3. Often use a relatively small fixed-focus lens with X-PRO2, which will be more harmonious. However, if we use a large fixed-focus lens (XF56 1.2) and some high-quality zoom lenses, it will become top-heavy to use X-T2 and X-Pro2 paraxial modeling.

4. The OVF of paraxial fuselage is meaningful only when the common focal length (equivalent to 35mm-85mm) is used. A longer or wider lens still needs EVF, so this is also a point to consider.

5. transfer users? Please buy Sony A7, not to mention Fuji's official attitude towards transfer optimization. The trouble caused by APS-C frame alone is enough to make you give up using Fuji non-reflex lens.

Apart from other things, X-Pro2 and X-T2 are really two excellent cameras. Zhihu user Shad was quoted as saying, "Ignore the price, the price is a time curve, and the trend will always go down, but the use value of a good camera will not fall in five or even ten years."
