Skills of shooting portrait composition
Photographers who don't carefully check the environment in the picture are all distracted. No one will buy a picture of a branch passing through his head. These distracting elements weaken the prominence of the subject and directly hurt the sales of photos. For portrait photos, what is more tragic than having perfect posture and light, but absolutely unable to use it just because of the failure of environmental composition?
Posture and light play an important role in portrait photography. Environmental composition has the same weight, but it is often ignored.
To take a picture with perfect composition, you need to pay attention to the following questions:
1. Fill the model with pictures.
Portrait photography is about people, so don't be afraid to zoom in! Remember, zooming in doesn't mean just shooting your face. You can make the picture "compact" and take a recent photo of the model sitting in a chair or leaning against a tree.
2. Keep your eyes on the top third.
This is the most natural spatial arrangement of portrait photos. Unless you deliberately create tension, try not to violate this principle. Another exception is when the model is in the lower third of the photo.
3. Use composition to attract attention to the model
Instead of trying to eliminate the bad environment, we should make good use of it. The arch, window and terrace in front of the door can play a role in highlighting the main body and strengthening the visual experience.
Create texture
Again, if you can't eliminate the distracting background, you should make good use of it. Keep the subject away from the background, use aperture priority mode (f/4), blur the background with shallow depth of field, and create artistic texture. In this way, you don't need to remove those interesting things from the picture, but you can also highlight the model from the background. 5.? Use lines
Brick walls are the perfect background for portrait photography. The lines on the wall add a lot of interest, but they also distract attention from the main body. Remember that any "line" that extends out of the picture and points to the subject is very powerful.
Change the shooting angle
Sometimes in order to eliminate interference, all you need to do is simply change the angle of the camera. In order to get perfect angle, try to change the angle of the camera and the model. You can completely shield those distracting branches or telephone poles by constantly moving a little bit to the left or right, high or low.
When you start to pay attention to the background details, your portrait photography sales will be guaranteed. Make your model stand out and add interesting things to the composition.
