Is Hailu Island in Weihai fun?

In the sea northwest of Chengshantou, Rongcheng County, Shandong Province, there is a very unique island. Looking across the sea, you can see steep cliffs, clusters of flowers, and flocks of seagulls hovering over it. The entire island looks like a skinny donkey lying in the sea, so it is named Haidon Island. Because there are many seagulls on the island, and the locals call the seagulls sea cats, Hailu Island is also called Sea Cat Island.

Hailu Island is more than 1,600 meters away from the coast and covers an area of ??1,312 square meters. According to myths and legends, Erlang Shen once walked to Chengshan to reclaim the sea. As he was walking, he suddenly heard the braying of donkeys in the East China Sea and the crow of roosters on the west coast. He was startled, and the pole broke and the basket fell into the sea. Turned into two islands. From then on, people called the east island Hailu Island and the west island Jiming Island. Between the two islands, there is a stone pillar that towers into the sky and is several feet high, which is known as the "shoulder pole stone". Although they are myths, the natural shapes of the two islands are very consistent with the myths.

On Hailu Island, the scenery of mountains and rocks is magical and unpredictable. After a long period of erosion by tides and waves, the cliffs around the island have become devastated, full of holes, and full of strange things, each with its own charm. Large sea caves can be used for boating, while small sea caves can only accommodate a few people. The pink rocks are stacked on top of each other and have vivid shapes. It can be said that there are scenery every step of the way, and the scenery is emotional, which makes people fascinated and has endless aftertaste.

Hailu Island is a world of birds. When we boarded Hailu Island, we saw seagulls everywhere on the island. Many seagulls screamed "coo", as if to welcome us tourists. Since there are no residents on the island and there are no other natural predators, the seagull population continues to thrive. Sometimes a large group of seagulls roosts on a rocky reef at the same time, covering almost the entire rocky reef. From a distance, it looks like a white iceberg.

Seagulls breed in large numbers on Hailu Island, which is inseparable from the island’s natural conditions and special geographical location. Whenever the Qingming Festival passes, it is the time for seagulls to lay eggs. The eggs begin to hatch more than a month after the eggs are laid. At this time, the seagull rarely leaves the nest. Even if people try to chase it away, it will not leave. Therefore, most of the seagulls on Hailu Island live in the crevices of the island reefs, while few fly in the sky. But now there are many people who don't care about birds. They often come to Hailu Island with baskets to pick up seagull eggs, causing the seagulls to fly around and scream. If things go on like this, Hailu Island, the world of seagulls, will surely turn into a deserted place.

Birds are always connected with flowers. Hailu Island is not only a world of birds, but also a kingdom of flowers. According to the records of Rongcheng County, before the Tang Dynasty, the island was covered with winter-resistant flowers. Every early spring, winter-resistant flowers bloom, and the mountains and plains are covered with a sea of ??flowers. Therefore, in addition to being nicknamed Haimao Island, Hailu Island is also known as Donghua Island. The locals simply call it "Huatuo". During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Shen Tingfang of Denglai Coast Defense Road (official title, fourth rank) visited Donghua Island and was full of praise for the scenery on the island. While sighing, he wrote a poem:

The cold weather is freezing on the secluded island, and the flowers are pity on the jade tea.

The green leaves the spring and the clothes are clean, and the light prints the snow and the edge is red.

Roughly speaking, the secluded island is still condensed with the severe cold of midwinter, and the winter-resistant flowers are blooming, and the fragrance is astonishing. The green leaves are cleaner than the sea water, and the color of the flowers dyes the remaining snow with a red edge. After many vicissitudes of life, the winter-resistant flowers on the island have unfortunately disappeared, and are replaced by mountain chrysanthemums that form a continuous patchwork. Maybe it’s because the flowers have bloomed not long ago, and the beauties have a bad life. The islands are still there, the mountains and seas are still the same, but the beautiful scenery of the past is long gone. However, there are still some mountain chrysanthemums. During the golden autumn season, the golden flowers bloom fully. From a distance, the golden flowers are really beautiful.

It's just that the scene of "light printed on the snow and red on the edge" will no longer exist
