[Reprinted] How to take a portrait of a tourist landscape?

First of all, according to the different shooting purposes, we roughly divide tourist portrait photography into two categories, one is the "visit here" type shooting with the nature of tourism commemoration; The other is the artistic portrait shooting with scenery as a foil to the theme characters. Let's look at the camera in our hands. Generally speaking, most tourists use card machines. Pay attention to two points when using the card machine: first, whether the battery is fully charged, it is best to have a spare battery with sufficient electricity; The second is to see if the capacity of the memory card is enough. Some friends put their favorite photos in the memory card of the camera. This time, there is not enough space on the memory card. Delete it. Some photos are useful. If you don't delete it, you can't continue filming. So, you have to check the memory card of the camera before you go out. Of course, it is also good to have a spare memory card. If you have a portable tripod, it may bring great convenience to your shooting if your physical strength permits.

The equipment is ready, and then we will start the following shooting work. When shooting landscape portraits, the problem to be considered is the first choice of scenery. Generally speaking, the selected scenery is the most representative or distinctive scenery of a tourist attraction. In every tourist attraction, there will be one or several landmark attractions, which are the signboards of these attractions. For example, the ancient city of Suzhou has Tiger Hill, Humble Administrator's Garden and Panmen. In Beijing, there are the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven. Hangzhou has the three pools of the West Lake, Yin Yue and Pagoda of Six Harmonies. Shanghai has the Bund and the Oriental Pearl ... even small tourist attractions in some small places have their own unique scenery. In this way, it is required to arrange the subject in this representative scenic spot when shooting, so as to take unforgettable photos of this tour. Of course, in addition to places of interest, stations, docks, airports and other buildings with local characteristics are also places worth taking photos to commemorate.

When shooting people and landscapes, the position where the subject stands is very important. Some photos put too much emphasis on the integrity of the landscape, and as a result, the position of people in the photos is not only marginal, but also so small that you can't even see who the people are in the photos. On the other hand, in some photos, in order to highlight the characters, the positions of the characters are arranged to block the most distinctive things in the landscape, so that everyone can't enjoy the distinctive scenery in the photos. Therefore, when shooting landscape figures, the position of the figures must be arranged just right.

When the object (or person) being photographed is closer to the lens, the larger the image, the smaller the landscape. The main body of landscape portraits is people, and scenic spots can only be used as backgrounds, but this background is not only a foil, because these backgrounds have certain moral or commemorative significance, so we should try our best to maintain their integrity. According to this truth, we usually arrange the ratio of people to scenery in this way: scenic spots account for about two-thirds of the picture, and people account for about one-third of the back. It can also be arranged in the left third or the right third. People are generally not arranged in the middle of the picture, except when taking a group photo. Of course, this is not a dead dogma, and the composition should be adjusted according to the characteristics of the scene to ensure the perfect balance between the commemorative and ornamental aspects of the picture.

In addition, in the process of shooting, the expression of the subject should not be the same as the image of a positive smile. Every time I take a photo, I say "smile, smile" to the subject. After a long time, my expression will become stiff. At this time, the photographer should let the photographer fully relax. At this time, telling a joke or doing a funny action can fully relax the other person's expression. In addition, there is a better way, that is, according to the characteristics of the scene, let the people in the picture just appreciate the scene in front of them carefully, and the photographer chooses the right angle in advance. Once the expression of the characters in the picture is in place, he will seize the opportunity to press the shutter to fully show the natural expression of the characters. This kind of photo is of great significance to commemorate. In addition, many natural scenic spots often have a wide range of scenes, and every detail of all the scenic spots in front of you does not necessarily need to enter the picture. The picture is too full and the viewing effect is not very good. It's like painting, where you should leave blank, you should leave blank. Sometimes, some typical parts or details are selected in shooting, and the pictures taken are often more artistic.

There is also a situation that often occurs in landscape portrait shooting, that is, the scenery in the photo is bright and clear, but the human face is dark. This situation is usually caused by shooting under the condition of backlight. We travel, usually during the day. The light of tourism photography is generally natural light, and the source of natural light is the sun. But the illuminance of the sun will also change with the seasons and time. If the sun rises in the east in the morning and sets in the west at night. According to the direction of sunlight, we divide sunlight into six kinds of light: forward light, backward light, side backward light, front light, top light and scattered light. When taking photos of scenic people, under the irradiation of backlight and background light, there will be a big shadow on the front of the people. At this time, you need to turn on the flash to fill the light. Many friends can't figure out why the sun is so bright and the camera's automatic metering display doesn't need to flash. Why do you want us to fill the light with a flash? This is because the general card machine, the camera is set to average metering, when the background is very bright, the camera metering system will calculate the shadow of the face evenly into the whole picture, so the camera will make a decision that it "thinks" that it does not need to flash. But in fact, the face is prone to shadow deformation due to insufficient brightness, and the card machine will not automatically turn on the flash at this time, so we need to manually set the function of turning on the flash-the "forced flash" function. This function is also called "forced flash" in some cameras. In most card machines, it is represented by a lightning symbol, but there may be different symbols. So I suggest that you take a good look at the manual of the camera you use and master this "forced flash" function. When shooting portraits outside the tour, because the light of the scenic spot can't be changed according to your shooting needs, then this "forced flash" fill light function.

In recent years, many talented cities are engaged in lighting projects, and the city's night lights are bright. However, when shooting with automatic camera, the camera usually turns on the flash automatically, which leads to the correct exposure of people close to the camera. However, due to the limited flash range and short exposure time of the camera, the night scene that was originally gorgeous in our eyes appears very black in the photo. This is because the night scene in the distance takes a long exposure time to leave a good effect on the photo, while people nearby only need a short exposure time because of the flash. Therefore, it is best to use the manual gear of the camera when shooting, slow down the shutter and force the flash to shoot. After the flash is over, it is suggested that the characters keep their original posture until the end of exposure, so that the photos of the characters and the background night scene can be exposed normally. Some advanced digital cameras have night portrait shooting mode, which is also set by using the principle of slow shutter and forced flash.

Here is a brief introduction to the basic shooting methods of landscape portraits. Compared with card machines, telephoto cameras and SLR cameras have more manual functions. People who shoot landscapes can't stick to the dogma of theory. In actual shooting, they must combine theory with practice, shoot more and compare more, and constantly improve their shooting level. I hope this simple text can help you take more satisfactory photos during your trip.
