15 photographic subjects that can be done at home.
When the weather is good, you can go out to capture beautiful scenery and light and shadow, and when the weather is bad, you are forced to stay indoors, and you can do a lot of interesting photography. Next, I will bring you some subjects that can be filmed indoors. Come and have a look!
Theme 1: capturing the beauty of water droplets
Everyone must have seen the close-up of water droplets falling into the water in advertisements for mineral water or drinks. The liquid splashed in an instant has different shapes, and the image of water droplets falling into the water can always bring people different visual feelings because of the influence of factors such as the falling strength of water droplets and the density of falling liquid. In fact, water drops are everywhere in our daily life. Under the eaves of rainy days, the faucet that is not closed tightly, the shirt that is not wrung out on the hanger, and so on. Are places where water drops will fall. Find a container full of liquid to create a dripping effect. Try to take off the splash caused by water drops!
In terms of equipment, in addition to cameras, tripods and flashlights are also essential. The tripod can shoot stably, and the flash is the key role to realize this high-speed photography. When shooting, it is suggested that the flash should be set to manual mode and the output value should be less than116, so as to achieve the effect of high-speed focusing, but the setting of shutter speed is not the most important. In addition, in order to ensure the clarity of the subject, the setting value of the aperture should not be too large. If you want to make the water droplets more beautiful, you can add materials such as resin or starch to increase the viscosity of the liquid, or add color pigments to get more different effects.
Theme 2: the picture of condensate sinking into water
Similarly, in addition to pure water droplets, high-speed photography can also use other objects such as fruits to cooperate with "performance" to photograph the splash when they are thrown into the water. If you want to carry out this plan, you may need a remote control flash, because the flash needs to be erected above the container, the container containing liquid should be completely transparent, and a clean color plate should be prepared as the background. Stand on a tripod like a camera. It is suggested to use manual exposure and focusing, set the aperture value at F8, set the sensitivity at ISO200, select the shutter as high as possible, and shoot with the flash.
Theme 3: Painting with Smoke
I believe everyone is familiar with light painting photography, but I wonder if you have ever thought that smoke traces can also be used for painting? As far as photography is concerned, the controllability of smoke is lower than that of light, so it is difficult to draw a very "complete" picture like light painting. However, if you can combine Photoshop to piece together a number of smoke traces in different poses, you will get a new result, so use your imagination!
Topic 4: Discovering colored light under a polarizer.
This is not so much a photography technique as a light and shadow experiment. Through polarizer and polarizing film, it is found that rainbow light, which is usually difficult to see, appears under transparent objects. As can be seen in the following legend, a layer of polarizing film is laid on the light box, and then a transparent object is placed, and the rainbow can be seen through the polarizer.
Everyone may have a polarizer, but if you have only one polarizer in your hand and no other polarizer, you can also use the computer or mobile phone screen to do this experiment, because they have a polarizer structure inside, and you can simply complete the above experiment by calling up a white picture. However, what kind of photographic works can such a "colored light" phenomenon create? It depends on how everyone can play freely and how to play at home!
Theme 5: The Mini World Made of Food
I once shared with you a French photographer's work "Gourmet Lilliput", which takes the model Lilliput and food as the scene. It looks funny. In fact, I can try this idea myself and see if I have any doll toys available. Of course, if I have a budget, I can also buy a set of dolls to shoot. Little dolls like Preiser have many choices and can be found on the Internet at will. The focus of this creation lies in the story of the situation, whether we can find the * * * sound in the real scene and test the creator's associative ability.
Theme 6: Explore the inner beauty of ingredients.
At first glance, this photography theme will make people think of the pictures in the microscope in biology class, but it is undeniable that the ingredients they come into contact with in daily life are "inherent", such as onions, lemons, oranges and kiwis. And their cross sections have different characteristic lines. Cut them into thin slices and put them on the light box for composition, which can "depict" different geometric effects. When shooting, it is recommended to shoot directly from above. In order to take sharp and clear photos, it is suggested to set the aperture value to F8.0 to ensure the depth of field, and then increase the exposure compensation by one to three levels to overexpose the picture and create a translucent effect.
Theme 7: Flowers in the Ice
It has long been common to photograph flowers in the natural state. If you want to try some new techniques, you may wish to refer to the work "Locked in the Ether" by Japanese photographer Kenji Shibata, freeze flowers for photography creation, and shoot patterns with unique artistic effects.
When making "flower ice cubes", it is recommended to use distilled water as the medium, because the water is purer and the transparency of the ice cubes made will be higher. In the process of making flowers, it may be difficult to ensure that the flowers are completely frozen in ice. Therefore, in addition to finding ways to fix flowers, it can also be made by "layered freezing". First make a thin layer of ice, put the flowers on it, add some water to keep the flowers from floating in the water, and then freeze them for the second time. After taking it out, add more water for the third time and send it to freeze, and you can make a complete flower ice cube. When shooting, you can put ice cubes on a white plate or sink, so that the light emitted by the off-board flash can bounce off the bottom to fill the light, and the camera can shoot from the other end where the flash is placed.
Theme 8: Abstract oil painting of lens
Speaking of oil floating on the water, people may think of negative images such as "this soup is too oily and unhealthy" or "this river is so dirty", but they don't know that this kind of oil can also be used in photographic art creation. Find a transparent vessel, fill it with water, and drop a few drops of cooking oil to make the water look oily. Try to make the oil and water stand more than 25 cm away from the desktop, and then find a piece of colored paper and stick it on the desktop below it, so that the oil and water can show many different colors. When shooting, you can use a flash or a desk lamp to illuminate the colored paper to make up the light.
Theme 9: oil surface reflection painting
This technique is similar to the previous one, and it is also created by using the special effect of patterned oil-water surface, but the former mainly uses the refraction principle, while the latter uses the reflection principle of light on the oil-water surface. Use cardboard, colored cellophane and adhesive tape to design the theme pattern filter you want to appear in your work. When finished, fix this layer of "filter" in front of the desk lamp, but be careful not to let the light bulb touch the filter. Then put the pot of oil and water in front of the lamp and you can start shooting. Note that it is recommended to turn off the lights when shooting to prevent the lights from overheating and the cellophane from melting.
Theme 10: the illusion of glass cups
If some of the above games are too troublesome, then this may make everyone feel relaxed. Simply use the principle of light refraction for simple creation, as long as you use a few transparent containers, water and a geometric pattern backplane, you can play different visual effects. In terms of equipment, in addition to the camera, you may need a flash and a tripod. When different water levels are injected into different glasses, the geometric pattern behind the glass will produce different deformation effects because it is refracted by different media, just like an illusion.
Theme 1 1: Essays on Cooking Life
Careful observation of your own kitchen or dining room must also have many topics worth exploring. After all, people's life is inseparable from diet, and photography is also inseparable from life. People may think that the kitchen is always in a mess, and it is not as beautiful as some restaurants in life magazines, so a close-up may be a good choice. After all, food, tableware, etc. It often has rich colors and characteristics. It is a simple and interesting photographic subject to record the details of cooking with them as the main characters.
Subject 12: On-site series of papers
If there are some small decorative lights at home that will be used to decorate Christmas and other festivals, you can take them with some suitable still life or portraits to shoot. Find a clean and not very bright background and put the lights at a proper distance from the subject. Using the method of large aperture and shallow depth of field, the light behind the subject is blurred out of the depth of field, thus producing beautiful light spots and presenting a dreamy atmosphere.
Theme 13: Fantasy scene in front of aluminum foil paper
I want to shoot a dream spot, but I can't find the right lighting at home. What should I do? If you can find aluminum foil paper in the kitchen at home, you can achieve a similar shooting effect. Prepare a piece of aluminum foil paper, knead it as you want, and then lay it flat on the wall or cardboard as the background. Put the still life subject you want to shoot at a distance from the background, use a desk lamp or flashlight to illuminate the aluminum foil background. After the camera is equipped with a tripod, adjust the aperture value a little, and use a flash or fill light for the subject if necessary.
Theme 14: Light painting is still life photography.
Everyone should be familiar with light painting photography. As long as you have a flashlight, you can practice at home. It is better to draw directly with light, take still life as the main body and use light to create special effects. In the preparation of equipment, in addition to flashlights and subjects, cameras, tripods and cables that can support B shutter are also essential. When shooting, you can set the sensitivity to ISO 80 or ISO 100, control the long-time exposure by releasing the cable, and draw the desired pattern effect with a flashlight and other light sources during the exposure. If you can, you can also change the color of the lamp with colored cellophane to increase the visibility of the creation.
Theme 15: Painting with Light
As mentioned above, the light painting technique is relatively easy to use. If you think you have mastered light painting special effects still life photography, you can advance to painting with "light". In addition to "painting" by hand, there is also an interesting way to play. You can tie a flashlight with a rope. In a wider space, you can see the effect of light painting by throwing a rope, and get a regular pattern that is a bit like that drawn by Wan Huachi when he was a child, which is unique.
But when shooting, you should be extra careful to ensure that the shooting space is spacious and avoid bumping into other objects, especially the camera. Before turning off the lights, aim the flashlight with autofocus, then turn it to manual focusing to lock the focus, and then set the aperture value to F 1 1 or F 16 to ensure the depth of field of the picture with small aperture. After the setting is completed, the exposure time is controlled by the remote shutter, and the painting is completed with light.
