Self-report

I call my latest painting "Time Series". These works are the continuation of the delay series, and they have further thoughts on life.

In today's rich material civilization, urbanites live in the jungle of reinforced concrete and trudge hard: the lungs are constantly purifying the polluted air, the eardrums are being hit by various sounds, and the overwhelming media advertisements and network information are hitting their eyes, which is dazzling and difficult to distinguish between true and false, and they only feel that they are living in a confusing and false reality. So I wanted to escape, and I tried my best to run to famous mountains, rivers and secluded forests during the holidays. However, I feel more tired from the journey, crowded people and difficult accommodation. The polis has been like the palm of the Tathagata, strongly attached to these alienated bodies, making the spirit exhausted and struggling. Every time I travel back, I always feel more attached to my childhood. Those quiet and beautiful days flowed away like a river, leaving only some persistent notes in my memory, which played in the hustle and bustle of the city, so I thought of the word "Time flies like water" and used it to give my series a name. My work deconstructs the living space of modern people with schema language, exposes people's yearning for peace and harmony, and highlights the primitive spiritual needs of human beings. The modern people in the picture, swimsuit is their symbol and the fig leaf of civilized society. The picture environment is false to the characters, and the flying ducks and schools of fish are a betrayal of modern society, which is the truth in memory. I want to pull modern people out of the falsehood of reality and integrate them into the falsehood of memory, so as to obtain a kind of truth of the soul. I tried to express this idea in the picture, and my wife felt the same way after reading it. She said that the person in the painting looks like her, and the bird sitting quietly at the end of the tree is her thought. Her mind stood on high and looked at her quietly, watching her frivolous in the water for a while, struggling anxiously in the water for a while, and the picture would move with her mood. I just try to use this montage technique to describe the pursuit of spiritual home by modern people in the anxiety of urban state.

In this civilized world full of consumer culture, popular culture and information culture, people live in a fast-paced busy life, and they are eager to pursue an instant pleasure. I seldom ask "why do I do this" and "whether it has the value of life", but follow the trajectory drawn up by society helplessly and persistently, lacking self-perception and judgment, and become an accepting machine. What's more, in order to achieve their so-called life goals, they play the role of paper tigers by hook or by crook, which is quite recognized by the secular, so buffoons are active in every corner. They disguise their bodies with lies, prove their "knowledge" with boasting, and then dance with long sleeves in interpersonal relationships, disrupting the principles of life, moral norms, academic system and competition mechanism. Clear-headed people can't be detached from things and dance with shackles, so our hearts are extremely heavy, so we yearn for the inaction of the ancients and look for freedom of thought in busy real life. The series of works of Nianhua is my further reflection on the busy life. Today, we can't escape into vilen forever to enjoy a lonely life. The fate of life is completely linked with our real life and political rights in society. People have become a symbol, and people's survival, work and lifestyle seem to be dominated by unpredictable forces. The rapid progress of society has further troubled us with problems such as indifference, war, energy crisis and environmental degradation. What I present on the screen is edited dual information: illusion and reality, ideal and reality, intertwined; Natural images and cultural elements blend with each other, conveying the truth in my eyes, the truth in my hands and the truth in my heart.

Personal evaluation

Taohuayuan series

Dai Zengjun has participated in many important exhibitions at home and abroad. His works are often exhibited in China, Hongkong and Paris, and are widely used by art institutions and overseas.

Be collected by outsiders. Dai Zengjun created the most representative series of Peach Blossom Spring in 2008. These works are a continuation of the fleeting series, a further reflection on life and a survey of the spiritual home of mankind.

humanistic care

The painter was born during the Cultural Revolution. In the process of growing up, I experienced the revolutionary cultural fashion in the late "Cultural Revolution" in the 1970s. Idealism in the 1980s and the new trend in the 1980s; In the consumption era of extremely inflated commerce in 1990s, we can say that we have experienced and are experiencing the whole post-Cultural Revolution era. It is these unique experiences of growing up in the cracks that make the works of this generation of artists never lack connotation and ideas. For those born in the 1980s, the "Cultural Revolution Complex" may have gradually become history, but it is inextricably linked with the "descendants" born during the "Cultural Revolution". Works often reveal humanistic concern for society, perception of life, quiet tapping in the depths of the soul, worship of pure art, and ultimate exploration of painting and life.

"epigenetic generation"

It is called the "post-generation" because oil painters were born or debuted later than the "new generation", but their pursuit is completely different from that of the post-70 s, post-80 s and animation generation. They are a group of oil painters who pay attention to artistic originality, painting techniques and social work. They have a strong creative desire and strength and have a university background. Looking at the various processes and marks displayed in the pictures of these artists' works can always touch the hearts of the viewers. Every bright color and image on the canvas can infect people and bring some surprises and feelings.
