How to master the skills of using light when using it in photography?

In terms of lighting skills, it mainly includes exposure skills and photometry skills. It is mainly to let the photographer know the light situation of the scene, so as to judge the exposure required for shooting, so it is very important to measure the light and choose the correct exposure method.

Master exposure skills

Exposure skills are not as simple as pressing the shutter. Exposure is the key to determine how the light and shadow effects of photos will be presented, such as light and dark, quiet, hot, fresh and sad. As long as the exposure is handled properly, even ordinary scenes can take excellent photos that make people shine.

What is exposure value?

Exposure Value's English expression is exposure value, commonly known as EV. It is a special parameter determined by the aperture size and shutter speed * * *, which determine the exposure of the camera photosensitive element.

Exposure value consists of aperture size (F3.5) and shutter speed (115s). In order to make exposure value have an exact numerical value to quantify, the photography circle artificially specified the exposure value: under the condition of fixed sensitivity, exposure value = aperture size+shutter speed.

But aperture and shutter are variables. How do they add up?

Assuming that the sensitivity is fixed at 100, the EV values of the aperture F 1 and the shutter 1s are equal to 0, then the EV value will increase by 1 every time the aperture or shutter is increased. In this way, we can get the EV value corresponding to each aperture series and the EV setting corresponding to each shutter series, so we need to convert the combination of aperture and shutter into the corresponding E V value and add them together.

Exposure compensation

Exposure compensation is an exposure adjustment method, that is, adjusting exposure. Exposure compensation is divided into positive compensation and negative compensation, expressed by EV. Positive compensation refers to increasing exposure, and the picture will be brighter, which is represented by plus sign +EV. Negative compensation refers to reducing exposure, and the picture will be darkened, which is represented by -e ⅴ.

Exposure compensation is a simplified mechanism for adjusting exposure value. Digital camera has the function of setting exposure compensation, so that photographers can easily increase the exposure reduction to correct the brightness of the picture.

Specific operation steps of exposure compensation

Before setting exposure compensation, you should first choose a good shooting mode, such as aperture priority, shutter priority or program exposure. It must be noted that exposure compensation cannot be performed in manual mode. After setting the shooting mode, check whether the scale of the exposure indicator is at the ON mark. If the mark is 0N, you can set exposure compensation.

? 1. Turn the switch to the top ON position and set the exposure compensation.

? 2. While opening the LCD screen, press the shutter halfway, turn the turntable on the front of the fuselage, and set the exposure compensation.

? The exposure indicator scale will be displayed on the LCD screen of the camera, and the following figure is the sign of adding the first-level exposure compensation.

When the indicator light is in the middle position, the camera has no exposure compensation action; If the indicator moves in the direction of+,it means that the exposure of the photo is increased (the photo is brighter); On the other hand, if the pointer moves in the-direction, it means that the exposure of the photo is reduced (the photo becomes dark).

brackets

Photographers are worried about whether exposure value is correct because they are not sure about photometry when shooting scenes with large contrast between light and dark. If you have this concern, you can avoid it by "automatic exposure".

? Automatic bracketing exposure refers to taking multiple photos of the same subject with different exposures, from which you can get the correct exposure photos. "Automatic" means that the camera will automatically change the shutter speed or aperture to continuously take two or more photos of the subject with slightly different exposures. In this way, the exposure of each photo is different, and the photographer can choose a suitable photo from a series of photos. It is worth noting that in the case of automatic surround exposure, the camera cannot shoot with the built-in flash or B-door.
