The main organization of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

The General Assembly

formulates the general policy of the society and serves as the highest authority for all decisions;

The Board of Directors

includes the Chairman, Representative Assembly Director, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Board of Directors presides over the official administrative affairs of the Society during the intersessional period in accordance with the Statutes and Regulations and the instructions of the General Assembly and the Congress;

The Congress

is composed of all current members affiliated with a member organization It consists of experts in photogrammetry and remote sensing, as well as others invited. The Congress is held every four years. The most recent General Assembly of the Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing was held in Vienna, Austria, in July 1996;

Technical Committees

The scientific and technological work of the Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing is completed by seven technical committees. They are:

①Original data acquisition;

②Instruments for processing and analyzing data;

③Mathematical analysis of data;

④Mapping applications and database applications of photogrammetry and remote sensing;

⑤Other applications of photogrammetry and remote sensing;

⑥Economic, occupational and educational issues of photogrammetry and remote sensing;< /p>

⑦Interpretation of photographic data and remote sensing data.

The Technical Committee is responsible for various scientific research activities of the society and reports its work to the conference. These committees form working groups to conduct scientific research and prepare reports on special topics within the scope of the Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Society. Each committee holds a symposium between sessions of the Congress to provide a detailed introduction to the committee's work. The culmination of the activities of the Technical Committee is the selection of papers to be presented at the conference of delegates held at the end of the Technical Committee's four-year term.
