Introduction of Computed Tomography

Computed tomography (CT) is a new X-ray examination technique, which is only used in clinical diagnosis in 1973. It is rapid, safe, painless, accurate and qualitative, and can find small lesions at an early stage. The application of CT has changed our understanding of some diseases, such as cerebellum, brain stem hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarction. CT scanning completely or partially replaces the previous traumatic examinations, such as pneumoencephalography, ventriculography and cerebral angiography, which enables clinicians to visually see the lesions in the ventricles or spinal cord and greatly improves the accuracy of clinical diagnosis.
