Reflections on reading and watching
Why do you want to look at this thing? What are you thinking when you look at this thing.
Oil painting, there, strengthens the collectors' satisfaction with the general present tense language. When it comes to oil painting, I think of the Virgin Mary, the naked girl, the scenery and a book "Longing for Life". I like it. I only realize one reason at present. I want to touch the convex and concave pigments on the oil painting. I don't know much about oil painting. What impressed me most was Vermeer's The Girl with Pearl Earrings, because I saw myself in her eyes. John Berg said: "The way you look at each other can further affirm your opinion of yourself." Just the story of Su Like Dongpo and Huang Tingjian about cow dung and Buddha. How I look at the world, how I look at myself.
He also talked about advertising, which promises people something that can be achieved. Everyone should have the desire to be better, but there is always a certain distance between reality and ideal. Advertising takes advantage of this psychology and provides a seemingly way to eliminate distance. You can do whatever you want. Therefore, driven by our own psychology, we sometimes let advertisements take advantage of it. Developers and consumers may not be very concerned about whether the effect of advertising promises can be realized. Most importantly, advertisements give the latter a way to realize their illusory dreams and the former a means to earn practical benefits. The whole world has become a stage for advertising to realize the promise of a better life for people. This makes people think that they can get what they want, but ignores the differences in the world itself.
These days, I've been thinking about some questions about photography. You have the camera. It is an extension of your eyes. What you choose to watch, and from what angle, permeates the consciousness of this person behind the camera. Is it possible to look at each other coldly and objectively? If possible, I think it's just a cold world. Everyone has his own view of the world. How can he observe the world with this camera without infiltrating his own consciousness? And let the world penetrate into people's consciousness, can't it also make the world more colorful? To some extent, the world is made up of people's world outlook.
In class yesterday afternoon, the teacher showed a clip of the documentary "Cultural Exhibition". In the film, the male cameraman of the TV station forced a woman who didn't want to dance to perform in front of his camera in order to make a movie that looked lively and had a strong national flavor. When interviewing an old woman, he didn't move the camera forward a few steps when shooting far away, but naturally asked her to move closer to him. This reminds me that the photographer used scissors to subtract the seemingly redundant branches in order to make the picture look good. When such photos and documentaries are finally edited and presented to us, they are likely to achieve their goals, look good and attract the audience, but what is the point of such things? It is impossible to take photos and documentaries without your own consciousness, but participation is not destruction, nor is it to let the real things in this world be transferred by your will and buried by your thoughts. After class, I watched the footage of grandma with little feet in her hometown taken by teacher Chen Xueli. At the beginning of the film, the grandmother watched her grandson shoot with a camera, fearing that he would be tired, and insisted on giving him some money. Communicating with people behind the camera is naturally unpretentious, but it makes people feel the real existence of that feeling. Participation or non-participation is not a fixed principle. What matters is your attitude towards what you see.
All the rules are only for people to develop in a more reasonable and better direction. Behind the rules is respect and gratitude for people. Without these, even if these rules are met, it is only a hypocrisy and form.
Photographing and video recording are not possession or power, but a pair of eyes, a heart where you can observe and discover the world by yourself, and feel and understand it.
