What are the sources of painting?

(1) dry coating method: also known as thick coating method, it uses less pen water and more pigments, and sometimes it directly mixes colors, which requires that the pen must be accurate and the brush strokes are strong. Suitable for hard objects such as rocks, trees, clay pots and fruits.

(2) Wet coating method: Also known as Bo Tu method, in the process of color matching, there is sufficient water, and usually a second color is applied when the previous color is not dry, or the drawing paper is wetted before coating. In still life painting, this painting method is suitable for background parts, transparent dark parts and soft interlining.

(3) Dry-wet painting: refers to the painting method of combining dry-wet painting with wet painting. Generally, the background and dark parts of objects are painted in wet, and the bright parts and main parts of objects are painted in dry. Generally, the combination of dry and wet painting and visual effect will be better.
