? 245: Time in Lijiang: Discovery of Dongbawen

on a cold and rainy night, it was so chilly that it was forced back. This reminds me of the journey in Lijiang, where I enjoyed the sun shining brightly every day, and the earth was coated with gold powder, and the color became more and more full. (Original photo, the effect is not taken, maybe the equipment needs to be improved.)

This is Old Town of Lijiang, who just got off the Yulong Snow Mountain and took a nap in the car for a while. Going around, although hidden deep in the alley, is always covered with sunshine all the way.

I also saw the loom, and naturally I was attracted by the color. Hahahaha

Maybe it was late or the wrong day, and most of the former residences of scenic spots in the city were closed, leaving only a gate to make me fantasize. This is a moment's stroll after the completion of the snow mountain project, so I don't care.

Although he hasn't entered this big mansion of nearly two acres, this celebrity can still get to know it. After all, this gentleman has made great contributions to the inheritance of Dongba, which I will mention next.

(Fang Guoyu

Dongba religion is a witch religion popular in Lijiang, and its scriptures are written in primitive hieroglyphics (Dongba). Although most Dongba believers recite them, they don't understand the meaning of the words. With the support of his tutor Liu Bannong, Fang Guoyu, with the ambition of exploring and sorting out traditional culture, went deep into Shigu and Judian, which are near the Jinsha River, and discovered the Naxi Biaoyin Gebawen Cliff for the first time. He humbly sought advice from the Dongba Confucian Classics, studied hard, and translated the Naxi legend "The Origin of Man" recorded in Dongba and several chapters of the Confucian Classics. After nearly half a year's efforts, the first draft of Naxi Pictograph Spectrum was finally completed. In June 1934, he returned to Beijing loaded with Naxi hieroglyphics. Unfortunately, Mr. Liu Bannong was dying. After being introduced by Mr. Dong Zuobin, he went to Nanjing to learn linguistics from Mr. Zhao Yuanren and Mr. Fang Kuei Li, and used the international phonetic alphabet to mark Naxi hieroglyphics, and compiled the first accurate and scientific Naxi hieroglyphics Spectrum in China and the world. Mr. Zhang Taiyan greatly appreciated it and gladly prefaced it, saying that this book is a "forerunner" in the study of Naxi history and culture. Guo Moruo, Wu An, Hu Houxuan, Zhou Youguang and other famous scholars all think that this book has extremely high academic value (from Baidu Encyclopedia)

In Lijiang, many wall plaques are marked with Dongba characters, which was discovered on the first night in Lijiang. It is said that this graffiti-like writing is also interesting. It is said that every shop must be marked with Dongba characters, otherwise it will not be recognized by the local indigenous people, that is, Naxi people.

(Dongba is a pictograph with both ideographic and phonetic components. Its writing form is very primitive, even more primitive than that of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, which belongs to the early form of writing origin, but it can also record the collection completely.

Dongba script is used by the Naxi ethnic minority living in eastern Tibet and northern Yunnan province. Dongba language originated from Dongba Jing, a religious classic and encyclopedia of Naxi nationality. Because this kind of writing is mastered by Dongba (a wise man), it is called Dongba.

There are more than 1,4 words in Dongba, which are rich in words and expressions. They can express delicate feelings, record complex events and write poems. Dongba script is called the only surviving hieroglyph in the world, and it is known as the "living fossil" of characters. In 23, Dongba ancient books were listed in the Memory of the World Register by UNESCO and recorded digitally. (from Baidu Encyclopedia)

Especially the above one, it is the first time that I found such a strange language here, but I have never understood what it means. If only a friend could tell me to learn it.
