What does Liujia mean?

The beginning of the six vertical lines in the ancient Chinese stem and branch chronology. Among them, "Jiazi", "Jiaxu", "Jiashen", "Jiawu", "Jiachen" and "Jiayin" each led a vertical row, so they were called "Liujia".

In ancient my country, we implemented the stem and branch chronology system. The ten heavenly stems (A, B, B, D, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui) and the twelve earthly branches (Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai) match in turn to get sixty Jiazi.

The sixty-year cycle formed by the control of heaven and earth has a long history, and Taoism has also deified it. Among the sixty Jiazi gods, "Liujia" is the most prominent. They also all have names and deities. The Jiazi god is named Qinggong, whose name is Yuande, and the Jiaxu god, whose name is Lin Qi, is Xuyi.

Liujia naturally leads to "Liuding". The so-called "Six Ding" refers to: Ding Mao, Ding Chou, Ding Hai, Ding You, Ding Wei and Ding Si.

They also have corresponding divine titles. According to books such as "Lingbao Six Ding Secrets": the name of Dingmao is Wenbo, whose courtesy name is Rengao; the name of Dingchou is Wengong, whose courtesy name is Renxian; the name of Dinghai is Wentong, whose courtesy name is Renhe; the name of Dingyou is Wenqing, whose courtesy name is Renxiu; and the name of Dingwei is Wenqing. The god's name is Shengtong, whose name is Rengong, and the name of Dingsi's god, Tingqing, is named Renjing.

After the Han Dynasty, as the influence of Confucianism gradually increased, Taoism also showed a tendency to "advocate Yang" on major occasions, so Liuding and Liujia were collectively called "Liujia Yin and Yang". Among them, "Yang" is Liujia, and "Yin" is Liuding.
