How does Canon A650 take photos with small depth of field?

There are many ways to get shallow depth of field. But it is nothing more than the following.

1. Try to shoot with telephoto end.

The longer the focal length, the shallower the depth of field. Therefore, shooting with the remote part of the zoom lens can effectively shorten the depth of field. Aperture f4.5, wide-angle shooting, the background behind is relatively clear.

Six-fold zoom can reach the focal length of 135 camera of 200mm, and can shoot good films with shallow depth of field, so telephoto is more conducive to controlling depth of field, but it is not absolute. When shooting images of the same size, the telephoto lens should be put farther away, and the farther it is blurred, the worse it is; At the same time, the longer the focal length, the smaller the lens aperture (consumer lens has no constant aperture), and the worse the blur. In consumer DC, telephoto and large aperture are like fish and bear's paw. According to the actual situation of the shooting scene, telephoto should be used when the light is sufficient. Use a large aperture when the light is insufficient.

2. Open the distance between the subject and the background

When we open the distance between the subject and the background, we can leave the background outside the effective range of clear depth of field, which can also create the effect of shallow depth of field. Aperture f4.5, the distance between the theme and the background is closer, and the background will be clearer.

Six times optical zoom, including the best focal length of portrait shooting of 85- 105, will not distort the portrait in this focal length, but the blur effect of lens background in this focal length is not satisfactory. Professional portrait heads used in SLR cameras are all fixed focus, with the longest focal length of 135. The large aperture of fixed focus and special design meet the requirements of portrait shooting, but the price is too expensive for ordinary photographers to buy and shoot. In other words, without a high-end portrait head, even a SLR digital camera can't take excellent portrait photos with shallow depth of field. Then what we can do is to increase the distance between the subject and the background, so that the photos won't be much different.

3. Close the distance between the subject and the camera

When the shooting distance is short, the depth of field is shallow, so when shooting as close as possible to the subject, you can shoot the effect of shallow depth of field.

Because we mentioned in the first point that we should make full use of the telephoto part, so that the distance between us and the subject will be limited. At this time, the photographer must choose between the two to avoid taking photos with too big a theme.

When approaching the subject, the distance between the lens and the subject and the distance between the lens and the background increase, and it is easy to obtain a shallow depth of field. Because the distance between the photographer and the subject is too close, the consumption DC should generally be set to the close-up mode, that is, the "small flower" mode. It would be better if the camera has a super macro mode, but this shooting method is generally only suitable for taking flowers or small insects, which is obviously not suitable for taking portraits. You don't want to stick the camera on MM's nose to shoot acne peas or freckles.
