According to the monitoring records, the breeding population of merganser in Fuer River Basin is 40-50 pairs, 50 kilometers away from Baozhongqiao Forest Farm, Liushuhe Forest Farm, Jianjian Forest Farm, Xiaopuchai Forest Farm and Xiaolin Forest Farm. It is the region with the highest breeding population density in East Asia. At the same time, it also reveals the special life habits of merganser in China.

It is a noble among birds, lives in a tall building, wears a top hat and brocade, eats cold water fish and drinks mineral water. It doesn't use soil to build nests, such as swallows, and it doesn't use branches to build nests. It has always maintained the habit of using natural tree holes to build nests. Only in this way can we meet the breeding requirements of merganser in China. Very beautiful. The small crown feather on the back of the head is similar to Henaan on the black gauze hat of Qing officials, and the black scales on the side are similar to the auspicious clouds on the Beijing Olympic torch. The ecological environment is extremely demanding, and the habitat must have good water quality, no pollution, rich food, and like to eat cold-water fish and wood frogs.
