Can I take pictures in the court hall?

Legal Analysis: No photos can be taken in the court hall. According to the regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) (China) People's Court, no photos can be taken without permission. Observers must observe the following disciplines: (1) No audio recording, video recording or photo taking; (2) Do not walk or enter the test area without authorization; (3) don't talk, don't ask questions; (4) Applause, make noise, create commotion and other acts that hinder judicial activities are prohibited. Journalists should abide by these rules. Without the permission of the presiding judge or the sole judge, no audio recording, video recording or photography is allowed during the trial. For those who violate the rules of the court, the presiding judge or the sole judge may, with the approval of the president, verbally warn, warn, confiscate audio, video and photographic equipment, withdraw from the court, be fined and be detained.

Legal basis: Article 17 of the Trial Rules of the People's Court of People's Republic of China (PRC), all personnel shall obey the command of the presiding judge or the sole judge, respect judicial etiquette and observe court discipline, and shall not commit any of the following acts:

(1) Clap and make noise;

(2) smoking and eating;

(3) make or answer the phone;

(4) Recording, video recording, taking photos or using mobile communication tools to spread the trial activities;

(five) other acts that endanger the security of the court or disturb the order of the court.

Prosecutors and participants in litigation may speak or ask questions with the permission of the presiding judge or the sole judge.

Observers are not allowed to enter the trial activity area, stand or walk around at will, or speak or ask questions.

Media reporters who are allowed to carry out the acts in Item 4 of Paragraph 1 shall do so at the designated time and area, and shall not affect or interfere with the trial activities.
