Balkan go on road trip Raiders Balkan go on road trip Matters needing attention

Actually, there are not many travel notes in the Balkans. Many people here don't know about it, and few people will choose go on road trip. The following is a small series to give you the guide to Amway, mainly the problems you will encounter when you are talking about go on road trip, and some travel guides. Travel guide

1. Time difference:

Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro are all 6 hours behind China.

2。 About currency and exchange rate: (April 218 exchange rate)

Montenegro currency: Euro EUR. 1EUR=7.8 RMB

Currency of Bosnia and Herzegovina: convertible to mark BAM. 1BAM=3.95RSD

Serbian currency: Serbian dinar RSD. 1RSD=.7 RMB

3. About changing money and withdrawing cash from ATM

Except Montenegro, the other two countries use their own currencies, but ordinary accommodation, shopping in small shops and larger restaurants can all be settled in euros. VISA and MASTER credit cards can be used in most areas of the three countries, but ATMs in these three countries can't use China UnionPay to withdraw cash for the time being, so everyone should prepare cash before traveling to these three countries. I have half US dollars and half Euros in my cash. In Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, you can exchange US dollars or Euros for local currency.

There are several exchange shops on the first and second floors of the arrival hall of Serbian airport, but I thought about changing some local currency just in case after I entered the country at 1: 3 in the evening, only to find that these exchange shops were closed. In Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, there are many money exchange shops in the cities I have visited, while the capital cities such as Belgrade and Sarajevo have a higher density.

4. voltage and socket:

voltage: 22V

socket: European standard two-legged round-headed socket

5. As for visas

As I said earlier, these three countries were chosen because Serbia is visa-free for China passports, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which holds a valid US visa, is also visa-free. When I left China, I prepared a return ticket, but the border inspection staff only looked at the boarding pass and didn't ask me for a ticket.

I've seen someone write before that they even got into Montenegro without a US or multiple Schengen visas. My self-driving experience this time felt that it was difficult to get into Montenegro without a valid visa from a designated country. When I entered Montenegro from Bosnia and Herzegovina, my companion's passport was full of visas, so the staff didn't find an American visa, and they specially asked my companion to go into the studio to find out. My American visa was on my old passport, but I forgot to hand it over to the staff together with my new passport. The staff also asked me to find a valid American visa for them before releasing it.

6。 On the transit of three countries

This time, I'm driving across the border from three countries, and I'm writing about the procedures for crossing these three countries by car.

When you drive to the border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, you can see a building similar to the highway toll station in China in the 199s, which is the entry and exit port of Serbia. Everyone in the car is crossing the border in the car, and there is no need to get off. When arriving at the Serbian border, a staff member first came to collect the car fee of 1 Serbian coins, and then drove a few meters to the Serbian border crossing, which was a bit like a high-speed toll station in China. Check everyone's passport and car identification, ask where to go, and then let us pass. A dozen meters further on is the entry and exit port of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the passengers on the bus don't need to get off. Give the staff their passports and car licenses and then sit in the first class. We entered Bosnia and Herzegovina with an American visa (if the American visa is not a valid passport, we must hand in two old and new passports at the same time), and we were allowed to enter the country without asking any questions during the entry. After customs clearance, remember to check whether the passport has an entry cover.

The procedures for entering Montenegro from Bosnia and Herzegovina are basically the same as those for Serbia entering Bosnia and Herzegovina, but there is no need to pay for the car. They will carefully read the American visa on their passports and then let us pass. After entering the country, you should also check whether there is an entry and exit stamp on your passport.

The procedures for entering Serbia from Montenegro are similar to the above, but I don't know why the entry-exit port of Montenegro is not connected with the entry-exit port of Serbia, which may be 1 kilometers away. After leaving Montenegro for a long time, I didn't see the entry port of Serbia. At that time, I was a little confused. I saw a policeman stopping by the roadside to understand the situation. The police asked me to drive straight along the road to reach the entry port of Serbia. At that time, I was in the middle of two countries, and I didn't pay attention to which country these policemen belonged. I don't know which country I should thank for writing here. Hahaha!

7。 About insurance:

This self-driving trip to the Balkans, I drove nearly 2, kilometers on Panshan Highway, and there were many unstable factors in the journey. So I bought Allianz european schengen visa-Global Guarantee before I left, and I can pay by WeChat. After payment, the insurance policy will be sent directly to the filled email address and printed out. Its coverage and claim mode (online claim, direct payment to account, quick and convenient) are very suitable for my self-driving trip in the Balkans.

8。 Raiders of self-driving in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro

I wonder if there are not many expressways in these three countries because of their geographical location. Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, has a toll or free expressway to nearby cities, but no expressway has been opened far from the capital; Bosnia and Herzegovina only opened a highway of about 2 when it left Sarajevo for Mostar, and no highways were seen in other cities. There are no expressways in Montenegro directly, and they are all Panshan highways. The road conditions of the main roads in the three countries are good, but some of the roads to the scenic spots in the mountains are just so-so, and some of them are gravel roads and mud roads. When you go to these three countries by car in the rainy season, you must know the road conditions of the scenic spots before you can move forward.

Although there are many Panshan highways in these three countries, the highway design is very reasonable. Just follow the signs on the highway and overtake in areas where overtaking is possible. You can drive safely if you want to slow down on the road where you need to slow down. Especially in Montenegro, a country that has basically never driven a straight road, it is necessary to drive according to the signs on the highway to ensure safety.

I bought a round-trip air ticket in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. During the design process, I started from Belgrade, went southwest into Bosnia and Herzegovina, then went southeast to Montenegro, and went north from Montenegro to Belgrade. The whole journey took 12 days by car. Except for Novi Sad, Serbia's second largest tourist city, other routes will not go back.

As always, China's largest Chinese overseas car rental platform was chosen for car rental. I had some unpleasant experiences and minor accidents with the local car rental company when I went abroad for self-driving several times before. After I came back, I contacted the car rental customer service to solve the problem smoothly and praised the after-sales service of car rental. Excellent service and smooth communication are the reasons why I always choose to rent a car when I drive abroad.

when booking a car on the car rental platform before departure, I confirmed to the customer service that the car I chose can enter Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro by self-driving only by paying a transit insurance fee. When I pick up the car, I tell the car rental company that I'm going to these two countries, and then the credit card is pre-authorized as a guarantee, so I can pick up the car smoothly. Yes, once again, when renting a car, you must buy super all risks on the rental platform. The super full insurance on renting a car is cheaper than the insurance of the car rental company. If there is an accident, you can communicate directly in Chinese after you come back, which is simply the gospel of my English. Go on road trip Raiders

Like China, these three countries drive on the left and drive on the right, and the traffic rules are basically the same as those in China. As European countries, all three countries require low beam driving lights when driving during the day. The expressways in these countries are generally two lanes, with the right lane being the conventional lane and the left lane being the overtaking lane. The locals have good driving habits, and they will consciously return to the right lane immediately after overtaking on the left until the next overtaking, so when we drive in these three countries, we should try not to occupy the left lane. Write down some things you need to know when driving in these countries:

1. About driver's license

All three countries recognize that China driver's license can be rented and driven in these three countries as long as it is accompanied by an English translation of China driver's license and driver's license or an international translation of driver's license.

regarding speed limits

the speed limits in these three countries are basically 2-4KM in cities, 4-8KM in ordinary highways and 8-13KM in expressways. The actual speed limit is subject to the site signs.

During my trip in the Balkans, I saw police checking cars and measuring speed on the roadside in three countries, so we drove very well. Although we were speeding, we all followed the local cars, which was not too much. Not long after leaving Serbia to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina, we were stopped by the police on the downhill road after turning a corner. The police's English was not good. While speaking Bosnian, they wrote some figures in the book, saying that I was driving at 8KM/h on a highway with a speed limit of 5KM. On the Panshan Highway with a speed limit of 5 kilometers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I dare to drive at most 6KM kilometers per hour. At that time, my speed was estimated to be 55KM kilometers. So we argued in English, perhaps because the language was unreasonable, or because the police felt wronged. After a few words, they returned my documents and let us continue our trip.

When traveling by car in these three countries, remember not to drive too hard. I really don't know when a policeman will wave to you.

About traffic rules and signs:

A. Wear seat belts for all vehicles

When driving in European cars, both the driver's seat and the passenger's seat, as well as other people accompanying them, must wear seat belts. If there are children, they must be equipped with child seats. If someone in the car is seen by the police without a seat belt, they will get a ticket.

B. Courtesy of pedestrians

Courtesy of pedestrians is a manifestation of a country's civilization. Pedestrians have the highest right of way under normal road conditions, and motor vehicles should take the initiative to give way to pedestrians. At intersections or zebra crossings without traffic lights, you must stop to give way to pedestrians. If there are traffic lights, follow them.

C。 Vehicles in the roundabout come first

There are many roundabout in Europe, so vehicles in the roundabout have the right of way, so when entering the roundabout, you must stop to let the vehicles on the island come first.

D. Do not overtake on the right side, and do not occupy the overtaking lane for a long time.

overtaking on the right side is strictly prohibited in Europe, which is illegal! Pay attention to overtaking signs when overtaking. There are many sections where overtaking is prohibited. Once you overtake, you have to return to the right lane.

e. When getting on the main road, cars on the main road should have absolute right of way. When entering the main road from the auxiliary road, you must stop at the crossing to make way and avoid grabbing the road. 2。 About picking up the car

Belgrade's airport is not big, and car rental companies are basically arriving at the lobby. When you find the company, you will usually freeze a sum of money in the credit card when you show your car bill, driver's license+translation, passport and credit card. The amount frozen by different models is different, and it will be unfrozen if there is no problem after returning the car. Because I want to drive across the border, I rent a Renault station wagon with a manual diesel, and I need to pay a cross-border insurance fee of 9 euros per day.

After completing the formalities, I will go to the parking lot to check the car with the people from the car rental company. The staff will tell the car what oil it needs, whether it needs to be returned with full oil, and explain some precautions. If there is no problem, you can drive away from the airport and start driving!

3。 About the right of way

The straight train has the right of way, and the vehicles in the auxiliary lane must give way if they want to enter the main road; Cars in the roundabout have the right of way, and cars entering the roundabout must give way to cars in the roundabout; At unmarked intersections, cars coming from the right have the right of way; When the bus leaves the bus stop, the bus has the right of way and must give way; Some cities will have special lanes for taxis and buses, and other vehicles are prohibited from entering these lanes; When someone gets off at a tram stop without a pedestrian safety island, the driver must stop until the passengers return to the sidewalk;

when emergency vehicles are dispatched, other vehicles need to give way to them.

4。 About parking

Parking is too important for self-driving travel! In some small towns, parking is generally free, while in small cities, parking is generally charged from 8 am to 5 pm, and parking is free on nights and weekends and public holidays. In big cities, except the parking lot inside the community is free, public parking lots and roadside parking spaces are charged.

If the sign of the parking place is "P" and a lot of words are written under it, it may be that a special vehicle (such as a taxi) has stopped; Seeing a single "p"

is free; If there is a mobile phone pattern under the "P", it is a paid parking space. If it is a paid parking space (no one charges), if you buy a local calling card, you can edit a short message and send the license plate number according to the number below the sign. You will get one hour of parking time after deducting the phone bill, and you can send it again before the expiration of one hour. Deducting the phone bill again will also extend the parking time for another hour. If you don't have a local mobile phone, you can find a newsstand nearby to buy parking tickets, one hour at a time, and buy several tickets if you want to stop for a few hours. Scrape off the corresponding date and time to show when you started to stop and put them in front of the window.

If you receive a parking ticket in Serbia, don't worry too much. If you pay the fine within the specified time on this ticket, the cost is almost the same as that of parking for one day. I forget whether it is one week or ten days. If the specified time for payment is exceeded, the fine will be doubled. So remember to pay at the post office within the specified time when you receive the ticket.

1。 About Refueling

Refueling in these three countries is not cheap, which is close to one liter of 8 yuan. The distance between cities in these three countries is not far, and there are gas stations along the way, so there is no need to worry about refueling.

11。 About drone shooting

I sent an email to apply for the legal use documents of the drone before departure, but I sent more than a dozen emails, and I haven't got a clear promise from several departments. So I use drones on this trip, all of which are on mountains or uninhabited scenic spots.

12。 Photographic equipment for this trip

Canon 6D+17-4mm/F4+24-15mm/F4

GoPro 6

DJI UAV-Xiao

13. About this accommodation

The accommodation in this trip is a hotel in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, and all other cities choose homestays. People in the Balkans are very enthusiastic. Staying in the B&B can have a lot of exchanges with local people and have a very good experience. The homestays I stayed in this trip were very good except for two cities that were slightly dissatisfied.

If it's a self-driving trip, I highly recommend my accommodation in Belgrade, Sarajevo, Cotor and New Pazar. The landlords are excellent and give us excellent travel advice and help.
