Brief introduction of Hubei Federation of Literary and Art Circles

The main duties and tasks of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles are, under the leadership of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, to adhere to the direction of "literature and art serve the people and socialism" and the policy of "letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend", to unite and organize writers, artists and literary and art workers to work actively and diligently, to cultivate talents and to prosper socialist literature and art, and to organize study, in-depth life, investigation and research, literary and artistic creation, theoretical discussion, publication of books and periodicals, and so on. Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles shall perform the duties of "liaison, coordination, guidance and service" for group members. Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles is responsible for the qualification examination and business supervisor of provincial literary and art associations.

The Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles was prepared in July 1949 and established in September 1950. So far, it has held eight literary conferences. Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles is a department-level unit, and the competent department is the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee. The Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles has 93 cadres and workers and 82 retired cadres and workers. It consists of six offices: Office, Personnel Department, Organization Liaison Department, Creative Research Department, Party Committee (Discipline Inspection) and Office of Retired Cadres. Ancient and modern legends have formed a pattern of "one society and seven periodicals", and formed an "ancient and modern legendary newspaper group" with newspapers and periodicals such as Hubei Pictorial, Calligraphy and Drama Club.

Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles implements the group membership system, with 58 existing group members. Among them, provincial writers and artists association13; City, state, forest area and municipality directly under the central government have 17 literary and art circles; WISCO has 28 literary and art circles in other industries. 13 Among writers' associations, Hubei Writers' Association was established separately, Hubei Dramatists' Association, Hubei Artists' Association, Hubei Musicians' Association, Hubei Quyi Artists' Association, Hubei Photographers' Association, Hubei Dancers' Association, Hubei Folk Writers' Association, Hubei Calligraphers' Association, Hubei Film Artists' Association and Hubei Literary Theorists' Association were directly under the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Hubei Acrobatics Artists' Association was under the Wuhan Acrobatic Troupe. There are six provincial literature and art awards submitted for approval: Hubei Folk Literature Award, Hubei Quyi Baihua Book Club Award, Hubei Photography Art Exhibition Award, Hubei Acrobatic Competition, Hubei University Student Documentary Art Festival and Hubei Radio and Television Literature and Art Award (jointly organized with the Provincial Radio, Film and Television Bureau).

The evolution of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles is as follows: 1949. In July, the former Jianghan and Hubei-Henan Federation of Literary and Art Circles merged to form the Preparatory Committee of Hubei Writers and Artists Association (later changed to Federation). In August, Hubei Literature and Art Monthly and the Federation were established. 1950 September, the first Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles was established, and Hubei Federation of Literary and Art Circles was formally established. Previously, in March of 1949, the Central Central Plains Bureau held a preparatory meeting for the Central Plains Writers and Artists Association, and in June, Changjiang Literature and Art was established in Zhengzhou. As the army went south, the Preparatory Committee of the Central Plains Writers and Artists Association (later changed to the Preparatory Committee of the Central China Federation of Literary and Art Circles) was stationed in Wuhan. The second issue of Changjiang Literature and Art was published in Wuhan. Later, with the liberation of the central and southern provinces, the central and southern regions were established (covering Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Jiangxi, Wuhan and Guangzhou). Drama, beauty and sound coexist. Later, he cooperated with Wuhan Branch of Chinese Writers Association. 1959 10 the leadership of the association was changed from Wuhan Municipal Committee to Hubei Provincial Committee. 1960 In September, the Writers Association, Drama Association, Artists Association and Music Association Wuhan Branch were placed under the leadership of the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and their offices were centralized. 1962 In February, Wuhan Branch of China Dance Association was established during the Third Cultural Congress of Hubei Province. After the Literary Congress, a new provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles was formed, some of them stayed in Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and some writers and artists, including Changjiang Literature and Art, Changjiang Song (1949 was established in February) and Changjiang Drama (1959 165438+). Since then, several teams have gathered together to form a stable pattern of literary and art circles in provinces and cities.

During the Cultural Revolution, Hubei Federation of Literary and Art Circles and various literary and art associations were forced to stop their activities. 1968 10, most comrades moved to the May 7th cadre school in Qilihu Farm Province, Shayang, Hubei Province, and a few comrades went to work in various counties. From March 65438 to March 0972, a few writers and editors were transferred from the May 7th Cadre School to Wuhan, and Hubei Literature and Art Workshop was established (under the leadership of the Provincial Cultural Bureau) to undertake some literary and artistic work, and Hubei Literature and Art was founded bimonthly.

Hubei Federation of Literary and Art Circles resumed in February, 1978, and seven literary and art societies resumed their activities one after another, changing their names from Wuhan Branch to Hubei Branch. This publication has been reprinted continuously. Since 1980s, six writers and artists' associations have been established. 1985 In March, Hubei Branch of Chinese Writers Association was separated from Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and established as a separate organization. 199 1 February, the "Hubei Branch" of various literary and art associations was changed to "Hubei XXX Association".
