Plot introduction

[Edit this paragraph]

Stanley is an ordinary introverted bank teller. One day, at work, he met Tina Carlisle, a charming female client. He was tempted and fell into an emotional trap woven by criminal gangs. Stanley hopes to have wealth and beautiful love, but he knows it's just a dream. He was depressed. When he was walking by the sea at night, he found something like a face floating on the water. He thought someone fell into the water and rushed into the water to save people, but he found a mysterious mask. I didn't know it was the mask of the legendary prankster Loki until I asked, but I didn't know how this mask would affect his life.

In his apartment, Stanley's loyal partner, his pet dog Milo, found the atmosphere in the room strange, but Stanley found it was a mask. He picked up the mask and observed it carefully. Suddenly, when Stanley's face approached the mask, the mask stuck to Stanley's face. After a crazy whirlwind, Stanley became a green-headed freak with super magic. Only one white tooth stands out, and he claims to be ". He retaliated against people who looked down on him in the past and played all kinds of practical jokes to tease others.

Under the magic of the mask, Stanley also robbed the bank and sang and danced with his beloved Tina in the palm nightclub, which attracted the jealousy of the gangster and the attention of the police, but it was difficult for others to catch him. Dorian, the leader of the gang, learned the magic of the mask and designed to take it away, while Stanley was put in prison. After a scuffle, kind Stan used his wisdom and courage to defeat the evil enemy, and he and Tina finally got married.

Behind the scenes production

Brilliant and dazzling art design, superb computer stunts and Jim Carrey's exaggerated and comedy performance make this movie like an adult fairy tale under tropical romance, which makes people feel relaxed and happy. The film has the cheerful rhythm of samba, and there is no silence in the story. According to the comic adaptation, it was originally intended to be made into a horror film, but it was made into a comic-style black comedy by the director, giving full play to Jim Carrey's genius. Later, it developed into an animated TV series. There are at least three movies with the same name before 1994, but the contents are not related to each other.

A (movie) fiasco

Stanley's toilet paper suddenly disappeared.

After the window is damaged, you can still see the glass later.

After the window was broken, you could see a dummy inside.

Tina's bright lipstick came and went in a chase scene.

Tina obviously used body double when dancing with Stanley.

Wonderful tidbits

[Edit this paragraph]

The film salary of Jim Carrey soared from $350,000 to $7 million.

Director Chuck Russell said that the film was originally a black horror film based on a comic book published by Dark Horse, until Jim Carrey turned it into a "Jim Carrey-style" comedy with a unique personal style.

Because Stanley, the protagonist, is a comic fan, the expression of the mask comes from many comic images.

The songs that cameron diaz sang in the movie were voiced by Susan Boyd.

In the film, the club where Jim Carrey often goes to try to attract Cameron Diaz is called Cocobongo. Jim Carrey plays Peter in Magnificence, and the bar he went to after losing his job has the same name.

When chased by gangsters, Jim Carrey reached into his pocket, took out a wet condom and said, "I'm sorry for the wrong pocket." This line is an improvisation by Jim Carrey.

The scene in which the protagonist wears fangs in the film originally had no lines, but Jim Carrey successfully talked with them after practice, making this scene even more funny.

★ Introduction to the plot

The film was written by lawrence guttmann, the director of Cats and Dogs, and it is also the sequel to the classic comedy Grinch Camouflage from 65438 to 0994. The film tries to "remember" the disguised former geek again with more pranks, more chaos and more magic. In this sequel, the magical green mask fell into the hands of cartoonist Tim Avery (Jamie Kennedy), which triggered some stories with new suspense:

Tim is a cartoonist with great ambitions. He and his wife Tonya (taylor Howard) live in a small house full of cartoons. Tanya really wants to have a child, but Tim, who values career success, thinks there is no need to rush into it. One night, Tim found a mask on his way to the company's Halloween party, put it on immediately, and injected him with magical magic and uncontrollable madness. At the dance, everyone was attracted by his clothes and movements, but his weird movements were seen by a group of animators as he was trying to create a new cartoon character. The boss is also encouraged to authorize his own creation immediately. It was the opportunity to make this cartoon that triggered a more bizarre story. Back home, Tim's magic is still there, which makes him give up his previous "plan" of having children late, wear a mask and have sex with Tanya, and then his wife is pregnant with a child in disguise. Finally, the full-term child Ivy was born. The ecstatic Tim and his wife didn't know that the child had the super power to pretend to be a geek. Because all the magical energy possessed by the mask is transferred to the newborn baby. Other children blow balloons, and he can blow his head into a big balloon! At the same time, the "mutant" child caught the attention of Loki (the owner of the mask, alan cumming), and his father Odin (bob hoskins) ordered him to take the mask back. Tim is surprised that his children are so magical. He just wants to find the mask as soon as possible and finish the cartoon character creation required by his boss. At this time, Loki is getting closer and closer to them, and Tanya has left town on business, leaving only Tim to play the role of a full-time father. Who will get this magic mask?

★ Correlation evaluation

After the film was released, its naive storyline was criticized. However, audio-visual special effects are the focus of this film. It is with the perfect special effects that 1994 "The Grinch Grinch" makes the story to the extreme. With the continuous development of technology and the improvement of people's taste, it is more difficult to please the audience with special effects. In this film, the alternation between real people and computer-made shots is a headache for actors, but it is in these difficulties that the wisdom of directors and filmmakers can be highlighted. When talking about the special effects of this film, Jamie Kennedy admitted that he had never participated in a film that required so much special effects work before, and many times he just performed in front of many different signs and air. In addition, acting with children is also a big challenge. Sometimes they have to face a real baby. Technicians make some modifications on the baby's face to make the expression more interesting and rich. But sometimes they make a fake baby, which makes it more difficult. Perhaps the most brilliant scenes in the film are Jim's classic dance and the fight between Ivy's baby and the dog. No matter the image level, color saturation, or comprehensive sound effect, it is so exquisite that it should not be missed.
