Shoot lotus flowers every summer.

Indeed, in summer, there must be more than N people around the lotus pond. Silently ... Lotus has become one of the "three customs of photography".

I want to shout! Turn off the shower head! Do you want Lotus back in this pot? Friend, help me!

Opinions vary, but lotus is definitely a good object to practice composition.

Why?

We can't take off our shoes and shoot by the pond. The lotus planted in the lotus pond is difficult to get close to, so it is a special test of composition skills.

In addition to the necessary long shots, it is particularly important to observe the lotus shape and grasp the composition. So, if you want to practice your composition as much as I do, the lotus pond is a good place to practice.

In previous years, it was usually taken in the lotus pond in front of the house or in the lotus pond in the People's Square People's Park. And it's still very slag. I personally think ...

This summer, I happened to be in Hokkaido, and I took a photo of Beihaidao by the way. It was also the first time that I practiced seriously taking lotus flowers in Japan.

I have been photographing lotus for about 4 years, and this year's lotus is the most satisfactory one I have photographed so far. There is a feeling of opening the crown after the filming.

The main shooting locations of the above photos are Hokkaido University and the Old Road Hall of the Red Brick House. My personal habit is to walk around the lotus pond, carefully observe the shape of the lotus and its relationship with the lotus leaf, and find out the composition and angle suitable for different attempts.

As for the parameters, because Bai Lianhua is prone to overexposure, I personally suggest that the tone of the whole photo be positioned as a shadow tone. Reduce the correct exposure value by one or two steps, and improvise according to the light and weather on the day of shooting. In this way, with a little adjustment, the petals can turn to a transparent feeling. Will feel very fairy.

Red lotus is based on one's own hobbies. If you like small fresh Japanese style, you can brighten the photos and lower the contrast to make them look Japanese. You can also shoot the lotus flowers very brightly, which is suitable for such a warm season as summer.

In terms of focal length, the telephoto end of the lens I use is 300mm, which is not enough for me personally. If you want to take a clear picture of the petals, or close-up, it's estimated to be a little longer, 400-600 mm But if you go out, take a gun ... hmm (to show hesitation, etc.) ... so you'd better practice your composition.

No matter what the custom is, it is my fixed project to shoot lotus flowers every year. If you can shoot something fresh every time, it is success! Summer is coming to an end. Before Lotus finished, she picked up the camera and patted it.
