Do you know that?/You know what? Do you know that?/You know what? Lupu Bridge used to be a place for climbing and sightseeing.
Figure 2. When Lupu Bridge was completed and opened to traffic in June 2003, the sightseeing platform was actually completed synchronously. This sightseeing platform is located at the vault of the bridge, far above the bridge deck, with excellent view! It is said that with this platform, Lupu Bridge has become the second bridge in the world with a sightseeing platform at the top after Sydney Bridge in Australia. However, the platform was not officially opened to the public until May, 2006 1. It is still three years before the opening of the bridge, and we boarded the platform before the 20 10 Shanghai World Expo, so we can see some obvious Expo elements in the picture.
The sightseeing entrance of Lupu Bridge is located at No.909 Luban Road, under the Puxi Approach Bridge. Tickets are priced at 80 yuan/person, but in fact, this ticket has been sold at a discount price of 40 yuan/person.
Figure 3. After taking necessary measures such as ticket checking and security check, the staff will take the tourists to the bridge deck on 14 floor (50m) by elevator.
Figure 4. Once out of the elevator door, visitors can see the smiling "Haibao" sculpture, which is the mascot of the 20 10 Shanghai World Expo. At that time, I always felt that the shape of Haibao was a bit like an extruded toothpaste. What's so strange about it?
Figure 5. Although there are sidewalks at the height of Lupu Bridge deck, tourists will be blocked by fences and cannot walk to the middle of the bridge. In fact, if tourists want to reach the sightseeing platform at the arch of the bridge, they must walk up the sightseeing trail with 367 steps (750 meters long and 2.25 meters wide) and reach the highest point (river) 100 meters above the ground.
Figure 6. This is the name of Lupu Bridge that I photographed while climbing the sightseeing trail.
Figure 7. The shot in the picture is my colleague B.K. from PChome. To tell the truth, it's a little tired to climb over 300 levels in one breath. I remember a few months later, my family leader and I climbed here again. As a result, she almost threw up on the bridge because she was not good at climbing. ...
Figure 8. Seen from the south to the north of Lupu Bridge, the elevated road ahead is the famous north-south elevated road in Shanghai. Because the Lupu Bridge is directly connected with the North-South Viaduct that once ran through the urban area, the present North-South Viaduct uses the Lupu Bridge all the way south and extends to the further hinterland of Pudong New Area.
Figure 9, finally climbed to the sightseeing platform of the vault!
Photo 10. This is a panoramic view of me standing on the Lupu Bridge, facing the east. In the center of the picture is Huangpu River, the mother river of Shanghai, Puxi on the left and Pudong on the right. Because the Huangpu River has a 90-degree turn in this section, the farthest super high-rise buildings in Lujiazui, Pudong (Oriental Pearl, Jinmao Tower, World Financial Center, etc.). ) I seem to have gone to Puxi on the left. ...
Photo 1 1. Overlooking several super-high buildings in Lujiazui. As the Shanghai Tower was not built at that time, the tallest building in the picture is the World Financial Center, which looks like a screwdriver (but it doesn't look like it from the side). Located near the picture is the Puxi part of the Expo site under construction;
Figure 12, Puxi part of the Expo site is still under construction-it will become the current Expo museum in the future;
Photo 13: nanpu bridge viewed from Lupu Bridge. This bridge is the most famous bridge on the Huangpu River, and it is also a landmark building in Pudong's development and opening up.
Figure 14. This is one of the core buildings in the Pudong part of the Expo Park: the Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center under construction-I believe everyone is very familiar with its flying saucer-like appearance;
Figure 15. The previous pictures were taken by me standing on the Lupu Bridge in the east. Now I turn around and look west. What appears in the picture is the riverside area of Xuhui, Puxi. The symmetrical twin towers in the middle of the picture are the Ganghui Square in Xujiahui. On the far left of the picture, you can also see the curved ceiling of the white Shanghai Stadium (80,000-seat stadium).
Figure 16: Overlooking the dome of Shanghai South Railway Station and the Ferris wheel of Jinjiang Paradise with super telephoto. Although the air permeability on the day I shot it was very good, this ultra-far-focus photo was still defogged very seriously in the later stage to have the current details;
Figure 17. This is a photo of me looking from north to south on Lupu Bridge: I can see the approach bridge of Lupu Bridge (now part of the North-South Elevated Road) winding through the Pudong part of the Expo site. There are two herringbone piles on the right in the middle of the picture, which is Xupu Bridge on the S20 outer ring road. However, this seemingly "barren" scene is completely invisible today after 10 years. The near part of the picture has been changed into the Expo Cultural Park, and Xupu Bridge may also be covered by a large number of new buildings, including the Oriental Sports Center and Taikooli in Qiantan.
Figure 18. If I remember correctly, the sightseeing service of Lupu Bridge was suspended shortly before the official opening of Expo 20 10, and never resumed. Many citizens and tourists call on the relevant departments to reopen the sightseeing platform at an appropriate time. I also wrote to the mayor's mailbox to express my desire for the vault seat of the bridge as a photographer. Regrettably, the relevant parties have been "studying" and failed to give a clear answer. At least in recent years, we should still have no chance to board the sightseeing platform of Lupu Bridge. Finally, the red car near this photo is the first car in my life: a second-hand four-eye POLO, 1.6L displacement, 4AT gearbox!
