The introduction and domestication area undertakes the task of introducing exotic plants and saving and cultivating rare and endangered plants, and provides services for greening scientific research. There is also a refreshment service department and a photography department in the park, and large-scale flower exhibitions and bonsai root carving art exhibitions are organized to enrich the people's sightseeing content.

In March 2004, the municipal government of Jinan decided to comprehensively transform the park and its surrounding environment. The overall planning is planned and designed by Shanghai East China Architectural Design and Research Institute, with a planned total investment of 654.38+70 million yuan. The project mainly includes: renovation of three gates, renovation of three groups of service buildings, new ecological trestle and ecological square, comprehensive renovation of park water system, roads, squares and greening. The transformed Botanical Garden fully embodies the idea of Scientific Outlook on Development and "people-oriented" fully implemented by the municipal party committee and municipal government. After the transformation, many recreational facilities were added, which further enhanced the fitness, leisure and entertainment functions of the Botanical Garden, and its original functions of plant science popularization, scientific research and demonstration gradually weakened, making it the largest urban park in Asia. In this way, the botanical garden has gradually changed from the original "plant kingdom" to the central park of the city. Due to this change, the name of Jinan Botanical Garden is no longer appropriate, and it cannot accurately convey its existing functions and positioning.

The new functions and changes of Jinan Botanical Garden urgently need a new name that can reflect the current functions and characteristics of the Botanical Garden. At the end of the week-long public voting for the selection of the new name of the Botanical Garden, the five voting platforms set up by the Botanical Garden Registry received a total of 680 1 valid votes, of which "Quancheng Park" ranked first among the five candidate names of the Botanical Garden with a total of 2,677 votes. 1. Sanmen: Demolish the original North Gate, East Gate and Southeast Gate, and build a new gate with modern flavor. Take the floating gate as the entrance passage, and set up a large landscape lamp post in the gate square, so that the night scene can be integrated with the main roads of the city.

2. Ecological trestle: the total length is 820 meters and the average width is 2.7 meters. Its main body is steel structure. It starts from Yuxiuhe Square in the southwest corner of the Botanical Garden in the west, and reaches the ecological square in the southeast corner in the east. The spatial pattern is "S"-shaped, winding through the southern half of the Botanical Garden. The theme given by the ecological trestle is to connect the scenic spots, facilities and water system in the south of the park, supplement and improve the original walking system, expand the spatial landscape layout, and achieve the effect of changing the landscape, which not only saves the ground space, but also retains the original green space and garden landscape, making the urban ecology more perfect.

3. Three groups of service buildings: the main body is steel structure, and the external decoration is glass curtain wall. Dongmen Service Building is located on the east side of Botanical Garden, with one basement and two floors above ground, with a construction area of about 2,200m2. Yingrihu service building is a waterfront building of Yingrihu in the park, covering an area of nearly 2500m2. The ecological trestle passes through the second floor of the building, which is both a landscape and an ornamental place. The service building in the southwest corner is a three-story steel structure with an area of about 1200m2. It is adjacent to Yuxiu River in the west and passes through Liushunmen to Hanyu Road, which integrates the park landscape with Yuxiu River Square.

4. Construction of ecological square: The newly-built ecological square is a large-scale outdoor performance square with green plants as the main body, with novel design and beautiful shape. Six large plastic trees integrate the artificial landscape with natural plants, with heavy green plants as the background, increasing the ecological proportion of the square. 5. Introduction of Yuxiuhe River: In 2004, the municipal government decided to transform Yuxiuhe River. The construction of reclaimed water station is the key project of comprehensive management of Yuxiu River in Jinan, and it is also one of the important measures to save water and protect springs in Jinan.

The whole project includes landscape reconstruction along the Yu Xiu River and reclaimed water reuse project. There are four reclaimed water treatment stations along the Yu Xiu River, which adopt the internationally advanced ETS treatment system for tertiary treatment to remove nitrogen, ammonia, phosphorus, harmful bacteria and organic matter in water, with a daily treatment capacity of 7,500 tons. The treated sewage can be reused for fountains, landscape layout, green irrigation, river replenishment, etc. , saving a lot of water resources. The transformation of Yuxiu River and its surrounding environment has changed the natural environment around Yuxiu River, provided another place for citizens to relax and become a new landscape in Jinan.

Garden landscape: It mainly includes Jingshi Road Landscape Belt, Shungeng Road Landscape Belt and the transformation of water system in the park: the average width of the landscape belt is 25m, and the landscape belt is composed of large shade trees, so as to create an urban landscape concept, and combine the original ecological landscape such as Woods, hills and wooden sketches with the open park to realize the unity of man and nature. The water system reconstruction mainly includes three water surfaces, namely, Yingri Lake, Rose Pond and Lotus Pond. * * * The water surface has expanded by 4,500m2, and roads and squares have been paved by nearly 5,000m2, greatly improving the water landscape. (Figure) After this large-scale comprehensive transformation, it is in contrast with the scenery after the widening of the Ten Roads, the comprehensive management of Yuxiu River and the improvement of the surrounding environment of the sports center, and has become another excellent resort for Quancheng citizens and domestic and foreign tourists to enjoy.

After the comprehensive transformation, the function of the botanical garden has changed to a certain extent, from the original botanical garden, which mainly focuses on scientific research and sightseeing, to a public open green space for leisure and fitness. The municipal government decided to build a new botanical garden in the eastern suburb of Jinan and rename the original botanical garden. From March 2006, we began to collect names from the public. On September 22nd, we decided to rename Jinan Botanical Garden Quancheng Park.
