The film, also known as Gorilla in the Fog, is adapted from a true story, which tells the story of Diane Fossey, a female ecologist, who devoted her life to protecting chimpanzees. Xuegefu (Oscar-winning actress, alien sequel) plays a legendary woman who is determined, confident, independent and enthusiastic. In order to study endangered African chimpanzees, this ecological protection expert resolutely abandoned the civilized world and lived in the dense forest for 18 years, becoming their friends and protectors. Australian actor Bryan Brown ("The Devil's Mission" and extended play's "The Thorn Birds") played the role of a photographer to record the event. In addition to being shortlisted for five Oscars (best actress, best editing, best film score, best sound effect and best adapted screenplay), this film also won the Golden Globe Award for best actress and best film score (and was shortlisted for best drama).
