Pursuing Nature in Living Space —— Suzhou Yinchengyuan West Courtyard

Suzhou garden art is the life wisdom and philosophy of the ancients. We have been trying to understand and explore the spirit and techniques of classical gardens through design practice. Keeping pace with the times, the freshness, elegance and leisure in the artistic conception of natural landscapes are the return of countless cities to nature. Combining with contemporary people's life, we think that this kind of oriental philosophy should focus on "environment" rather than "shape", and what is more needed is to study the spatial experience that adapts to modern people's life rather than sticking to the repetition of traditional gardening techniques.

Yuanxi Courtyard is located in gusu district, Suzhou, with a distance of Liuyuan 1km. Less than 1 0,000 square meters of land is surrounded by towering old trees, filled with a strong historical and cultural city and life atmosphere. The courtyard is composed of entrance, parking lot, building water courtyard and inner court space. Architecture is the future community activity center, open to the outside world, and also the entrance of residential areas.

"You are winding, fresh and brilliant. There are groves in the chest and nymphs everywhere. The artistic conception of poetry and painting in Jiangnan gardens is not only to express the enjoyment of life, but more importantly to convey people's feelings and values of pursuing and perceiving nature in the living space. Considering the unique geographical and cultural attributes of the design site, combined with the use function, in the design concept, each courtyard is experiencing and thinking about the oriental artistic conception around the theme of "nature". Within the scope of small-scale land use, architecture, interior and landscape have tried to better coordinate and learn from each other.

The "empty forest" is the first water courtyard that enters the entrance. The quiet water in the center, the building and the three corridors complement each other, and the water reflects the Woods, the bitter walls of rocks and the sky behind the building. The space of the courtyard is introverted and blank here, but it seems to be full of all the scenery and isolated from the noise outside the wall, quiet and carefree. Out of the ground, clusters of small trees have a unique attraction here, showing endless breath of life. It connects the upper and lower spaces with the natural mountain and stone walls on the west side. Architecture, interior and courtyard blend with each other and share space with each other. Inside and outside, virtual and real, rigid and soft, we hope users can feel the interesting experience similar to traditional garden architecture here.

From the water courtyard through the rotating wooden door, you come to the tree courtyard. Different from the minimalist water garden, the plants in the tree garden are soft and beautiful, the terrain is undulating, the ground is rich and exquisite, and the stones are heavy and heavy, and the space is full of fresh and natural atmosphere. Walk into the yard of the tree, which is where the community lives. People's activities should be diverse and optional, and we emphasize the experience of spatial atmosphere rather than the point-to-point pure visual picture. Under the mottled trees, full of green natural beauty is the beginning of residential life.
