In fact, the things needed for time-lapse photography are not very complicated. Simply put:

1, motion camera: It's better to have a delay function, so that after you set the parameters, you can shoot automatically. If you don't have the time-delay shooting function, you can only try to connect to the APP and take a picture at regular intervals (for example, 10 second, 20 seconds).

2. tripod or delay track: in order to achieve good results, time-delay photography needs to fix the camera, so a tripod is essential. If you want to shoot a moving delay, you can use the delay track. The delay track is used to move a fixed distance at a certain interval, and you can shoot a moving delay effect with the shooting interval.

Let's take GoPro Hero 4 Silver as an example to introduce the setting method of time-lapse shooting:

Step 1: Turn on the machine. After the display screen is unlocked, touch the sliding display screen to the left to display the function menu, and select the "continuous shooting" position option. After confirmation, touch and slide the display, and the menu on the lower right hand side will appear.

Step 2: Click the mode option, and three options will appear (as shown on the right hand side of the figure below). Select the delay option.

Step 3: Set shooting parameters. First of all, set the shooting interval of time-lapse shooting, that is, how often to take a photo. Click the "Interval" option, and multiple options will appear. You can select "0.5 seconds, 1 second, 2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 second, 30 seconds, 60 seconds". After selecting, press "Back" in the upper right corner to return.

Step 4: Set the pixels for taking photos. Click the "Megapixel" option to select the "12MP width, 7MP width, 7MP width and 5mp width" option. The system defaults to 12MP width. After selecting, press "Back" in the upper right corner to return.

After adjusting these, you can actually start time-lapse photography. However, some friends have high requirements and detailed setting parameters. You can make the following settings.

Spot metering: Spot metering option, turned off by default. After opening, the spot metering function of the lens can be realized.

PROTUNE: You can set the settings of white balance, color, ISO, sharpness, exposure value compensation and other options.

Supplementary note: If shooting at night, you can choose the "Night Lapse" night scene delay function. In this function, the shooting interval is "15 seconds, 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes". In addition, you can also adjust the shutter speed "10s, 20s, 30s" in PROTUNE.

The above is a description of the silver version of GoProHero 4, and other models can refer to it accordingly.
