Which telescope is better?

For beginners (reposted by TNT)

This article may be helpful to many new fans.

Recently, I saw a lot of novices asking about buying mirrors. Everyone told me something, which made people who just started without any experience even more at a loss. Today, I suddenly realized something. As a beginner, I really want to write some of my own experiences for beginners' reference:

1. What kind of mirror you choose depends on what your goal is (I think no one buys a mirror just to see more things without their own preferences or goals).

Long focal length should be selected for observation and photography of planets, sun and moon.

Choose a small focal ratio for deep space photography.

The search mirror for comet observation should have a large aperture (strong light collection, the mirror with the same price has the largest aperture).

2. For beginners, sixty or eighty is the best refraction for beginners. The reason for this is the following:

First, it is easy to carry, and you can often go out to observe and practice (my 102 is heavy, so it is not easy to go out once. I now have a deep understanding of a sentence: how much you see depends on the number of times you observe, not the caliber of your mirror);

Second, after the upgrade, it can be used as a star guide mirror (I'm going to shoot deep air now, so I have to buy another 60 as a star guide mirror. Now I think we should buy it backwards, that is, buy 60 first, and then we can choose what kind of mirror after we have a certain foundation and understanding. And it is possible to reduce the price of large-caliber equipment during this period, thus saving the cost of some accessories);

Third, it is convenient to use and maintain.

As for what brand to buy, I personally feel that some well-known domestic brands (such as, Jinghua, Ai, etc.). ) has a very good quality and reputation, don't be greedy for cheap things that are not produced by regular manufacturers, or you will regret it. As for which one to choose, I personally think it is not very important (even if there are some small differences between the two, it is not obvious in our eyes now, so don't worry about which one to choose). The key is to make it convenient for you, preferably with a local agent, and you can choose on the spot. I have no choice but to send it by post. And now some manufacturers are promoting sales, and some products can be tried. This is very good information, if conditions permit, of course, we should consider it.

4. Don't be picky:)

There are many brands now, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. But these are all things that we can bear or not affect the observation of introductory learning. Remember, there is no perfect mirror. Choosing the one that suits you is the most important. It took you a year to choose what kind of mirror to buy, so you have one year less observation and study time than others, and your use and understanding of the mirror itself is also backward.

I mean, no matter how much you listen to others, it's not as affordable as holding a mirror:)

If you have a good friend with a mirror, it is your blessing, so you must make full use of it:) In this way, you can not only have a practical understanding of the mirror (you will know what kind of mirror you should choose later), but also learn a lot of experiences that you can only learn through long-term practice and exploration.

I hope everyone will listen to the opinions of professionals here before buying:
