Skills of shooting ice and snow in winter

Winter has come for many days, and the heavy snow has visited it several times. Presumably, photographers will take advantage of weekends and holidays to enjoy and play with friends and relatives, which is full of pleasant atmosphere. At this time, of course, it is necessary to take a good photo as a souvenir, but many friends often encounter difficulties in taking poor snow scenes. In view of these situations, the author will talk to you about the skills of shooting snow scenes.

In this rain and snow shooting environment, I think photographers should stand the test. It should be noted that such a cold climate may affect the camera itself. If the temperature is too low, the battery used by the camera may also be affected. Try to protect the camera lens from being "bathed" by snow and ice particles. Therefore, it is very important to protect the camera from moisture and cold.

Equipment protection

In the process of shooting, friends should take anti-fog measures for equipment lenses and anti-freezing measures for cameras, and make preparations in advance to avoid inconvenience during shooting. When shooting, you should consciously protect the camera with your hands to prevent snow from entering the fuselage. I suggest that you can also prepare an anti-freezing warm cover for your camera and put on a thick cotton-padded coat for your camera. It is not worth the loss to damage our "baby" because of shooting snow scenes. Secondly, you should prepare a spare battery in advance, because in a low temperature environment, the battery will be consumed quickly, so as not to suddenly turn off the camera when you see your favorite scenery at first sight. Last but not least, a UV mirror was added in front of the camera. Their function is to block ultraviolet rays and strong light and protect your delicate lens coating from damage.

This is the coat of the camera. This coat can not only keep out the wind, but also keep warm. As we all know, shooting snow scenes is usually carried out in a low temperature environment, which can not only improve the working environment temperature of the battery, but also ensure that the camera can work normally in the cold of -40 degrees.

UV mirror, its function is to block ultraviolet rays and strong light, eliminate the interference of ultraviolet rays on photosensitive elements, protect your delicate lens coating from damage, and improve the clarity and color effect, which can be described as killing two birds with one stone.

Scene selection

In fact, shooting ice and snow is as important as shooting other scenery. Don't think it's just a white snow scene. It doesn't matter how you shoot it. Actually, it's not. There is also a certain basis for choosing a scene.

Snow scene is characterized by strong reflection and high brightness. If you simply shoot a piece of white land, you will often feel dazzling and can't see anything clearly. Therefore, we'd better choose a darker background when shooting, which will make the snow scene form a strong contrast with the dark scenery and make the whole picture more layered. If the background brightness is high, the photo will be too bright and uncomfortable.

The snow scene nearby, the trees in the middle and the mountains in the distance form layers.

Foreground selection

The choice of shooting prospect is also very important. Because of the particularity of the snow scene, using branches, flowers or buildings covered with ice as the shooting foreground can not only increase the depth of space, but also enrich the elements of the whole picture, so as not to be always white and uninspired.
