Actor Yang Ziqiong came to Hong Kong to make a living with mainland martial arts master Akin?

The film review "Ah Kin" was titled "Ah Kin's Story" when it was released in Chinese mainland, which was a film about "film stuntman". Xu Anhua, who is accustomed to innovation, divided the film into three sections and told different aspects of Ah Kin's life in three different ways, making this film a rare experimental film made in Hong Kong. At the same time, "Ah Kin" won the "Golden Camera Award" as a participating film in Berlin Film Festival.

In the film, Yang Ziqiong interprets the female stuntman-Akin with vivid, delicate and personalized performances. Besides, Yang Ziqiong, like Jackie Chan and Wen Dissel, often refuses to use body double. As a result, she was often injured while filming, and sometimes it was even serious-when filming Ah Kin, she jumped off the overpass and hurt her back, which almost led to lifelong paralysis. When Ah Kin was released, this scene was put in the NG picture at the end of the film. It was a cruel fact and shocking. Therefore, Yang Ziqiong's performance in the film also adds a lot of color to the film.

"Ah Kin" is a movie love letter dedicated to Hong Kong martial arts by director Xu Anhua, and only she can express the loneliness and bitterness behind the glamorous martial arts fingers so tactfully and meaningfully.

Very sincere work. There are not many films with the theme of film introspection in Hong Kong, and there are even fewer works that do not involve deconstructing pure shadow films. The opening long shot swept the whole studio, which is also very valuable for ordinary audiences to understand the story behind the shooting. Although this film seems to be rarely mentioned by future generations, it does not reduce its visibility and readability at all. Yang Ziqiong's performance was superb, and it's hard to imagine why he didn't get an Oscar nomination for this film.

This award-winning documentary won the Golden Photography Award at the 47th Berlin Film Festival in Germany.
