The film evaluation of heaven and earth

After graduating from the photography department of the Belgian Film Academy, director Yu Liwei returned to Hong Kong to direct short films and documentaries. In 1996, he won several awards at the international film festival for his documentary "Beautiful Soul". Besides directing, he is also one of the cutting-edge photographers in Hong Kong. He has worked with directors such as Xu Anhua and Jia Zhangke, and his works include A Thousand Words and Xiaowu. In addition, we often cooperate with Guan Jinpeng to shoot commercials.

The hero Tony Leung Ka Fai (played by A Jian) is not only involved in the performance, but also an investor behind the film. Tony Leung Ka Fai said that this investment in "Heaven on Earth" was purely a coincidence. He and director Yu Liwei met through the film producer Guan Jinpeng. At first, the director only invited him to perform, but after reading the script, he felt very fond of it and had more confidence in it, so he simply invested as a producer. Tony Leung Ka Fai, whose works are abundant, has a wide range of performances and is harmonious. No matter whether he is a comedy or a literary film, an infatuated man or a villain, he can fully master the character, and he has cooperated with many foreign actors (such as Jane Madge and Yasuko Tomita).

In addition to the photographer-turned-director Yu Liwei, There are also Tony Leung Ka Fai and Lv Liping, and the famous director Guan Jinpeng is the producer. "Heaven and Earth" was a finalist in the competition unit of Cannes Film Festival in 1999. Born as a photographer, he is very skilled in mastering images. By changing the lens and color, he presents the life of the people at the lower level of Lan Street in Hong Kong from a different angle from other previous works, and shoots a rare artistic conception in Hong Kong movies. What Heaven and Earth want to express is not only the post-1997 phenomenon, but also the subtle relationship between people and the sense of alienation of the city.
