The Three Gorges is the most wonderful section of the Yangtze River and a landscape gallery created by nature. Nanjinguan in Yichang is its eastern end, and Baidicheng in Fengjie, Sichuan is its western end, with a total length of193km. The Three Gorges consists of Xiling Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Qutang Gorge. Xiling Gorge is famous for its "danger", Wuxia Gorge is famous for its "show" and Qutang Gorge is famous for its "hero".

Xiling Gorge

The longest canyon in the Three Gorges, 70km long, runs from Nanjinguan, Yichang City to Xiangxi River, Zigui County, Yichang City, which is characterized by many beaches and urgent water. Among them, Xietan, Qingtan and Kong Ling Beach are the three famous dangerous beaches in the Three Gorges. After the impoundment of Gezhouba project, the backwater reached hundreds of miles, the water level rose and the shoal rocks sank to the bottom of the river. There are many landscapes in Xiling Gorge, including Huangniu Gorge, Huangling Temple, Three Gorges Project, Dengying Gorge, Kongling Gorge, Niugan Mafei Gorge, Bingshu Baojian Gorge and Quyuan Temple. Qu Yuan, a great poet in the Warring States Period, and Wang Zhaojun, a pro-Xiongnu beauty in the Western Han Dynasty, were both born in Xiling Gorge. Therefore, when Du Fu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, crossed Xiling Gorge, he said in a poem: "If there is no handsome talent in the Taoist world, where is Qu Yuan's home here?" "If Wushan girl is ugly, where is Zhaojun Village?"

Wu Gorge

Known as the Great Gorge in the Three Gorges. Twelve peaks in Wushan, like a string of jadeite gems, are embedded in the river. The Wuxia Gorge washed out by the rapids is famous for its profound beauty and solemnity. The drizzle, gurgling streams, rainbows flying all over the sky and colorful colors make the canyon charming and colorful! Daning River, the first tributary of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, originated in Zhong Nanshan, Pingli County, Shaanxi Province, and flows into the Yangtze River after passing through Wuxi and Wushan counties in Sichuan. Daning River is a beautiful river. There are also three Gorges on Daning River: Longmen Gorge, Eighth Five-Year Gorge and Cuidi Gorge. People call it "Little Three Gorges". It is more beautiful than the Great Three Gorges, so the Three Gorges landscape is the first in the world and the Ninghe landscape is the first.

qutang gorge

Also known as Kuixia, it is the shortest gorge in the Three Gorges, with majestic momentum and steep peaks, but "it is bordered by Bayu in the west and Jingchu mountains in the east". The river in the gorge is surging and the waves are thundering, which is known as "the world's majestic pass". Qutang Gorge is characterized by majestic mountains. The mountains on both sides of the strait are like axes, which are extremely threatening. Most of them are only 100 meters wide, and the narrowest part is only tens of meters. Among them, Kuimen Mountain is particularly majestic and can be called the world's majestic pass, so the words "Kuimen is the best in the world" are engraved on the cliff. Beyond the mountains, the water potential of Qutang is also "heroic", "locking the water of Sichuan and choking the throat of Bashu". Du Fu describes the water potential of Kuimen, and there is a poem "More water will prosper, and Qutang will compete for a gate". This is a swan song. Outline the majestic posture of Kuimen. Now that the river has arrived, the current is rushing and roaring. This is a spectacular sight. A poem by He, a poet in the Qing Dynasty, aptly describes the beauty of Qutang: "Kuimen leads a line, and strange stones flow through it. The peak is connected with the sky, and the boat travels from the hole. " There are many scenic spots in Qutang Gorge, such as Fengxiang Gorge, Meng Liang Ladder, Armored Cave, upside-down monk, rhinoceros looking at the moon, Baidicheng, ancient plank road, Daxi cultural site and so on. There are also two small Three Gorges, namely Shennong Gorge in Xiling Gorge and Daning River in Wuxia Gorge. These two small Three Gorges are as beautiful as jade, with lush mountains, more beautiful scenery than the Great Three Gorges, original charm and fascinating. Canoe rafting is a popular tourist project. When the ship sails out of the west exit of Qutang Gorge, you go to the stern and look up, and the panoramic Kuimen majestic posture will be displayed in front of you. This is the best angle for taking pictures as a souvenir. Kuimen consists of Chijiashan in the north and Baiyanshan in the south. It is called "White Salt Mountain" in the south and "Chi Jia Mountain" in the north. Jiajiang confronts each other, rising from the ground and soaring into the sky. The banks of Xiajiang River stand like razors, just like the gates made in heaven. The cliff here is 500 meters high and the river is only 100 meters wide, but the flow is as high as 50,000 cubic meters per second. It is really "two mountains are like gate valves, and a strong wind comes out."
