About gravure photography

Gravure photography is a process that combines photography with intaglio printmaking. Through this process, a photograph is transferred to a copper plate, which is then etched, inked and dried. Finally, the ink is printed onto photographic paper using intaglio printing. The finished piece blends the best of both techniques. Precise details combined with rich tones and the texture of fine paper can produce stunning results.

Gravure photography became widespread in the 19th century, and the technology is still used in modern businesses.
