What does dual-machine invigilation mean?

Two-station invigilation refers to the use of two seats to monitor the examination process, such as online examination system, one is monitored by computer camera from the front of the examinee, and the other is monitored by mobile phone camera from the side.

Computer camera monitoring: candidates need to use a computer with a camera and microphone to take the exam. Candidates need to keep their faces in the picture at all times. The invigilator can view the real-time video surveillance in the background of the system, or watch the video and download it after the exam.

Mobile phone camera monitoring: candidates use computer to take the exam, and mobile phones monitor the exam from the side. The mobile phone camera should be able to capture candidates, desktops and computers, and can monitor a wider range to prevent candidates from cheating. The invigilator can view the real-time video from the background of the system, or watch and download it after the exam.

Computer and mobile phone camera invigilation is one of the three ways of audio and video invigilation in online examination system, and the other way is real-time sharing of computer screens. Candidates' exam pages are shared with the system in real time, and invigilators can view candidates' answering operations in real time in the background. The system will also automatically record the screen, and save the examinee's answering operation all the time. The invigilator can check and download it after the exam for evidence.

There are two other intelligent anti-cheating measures in the online examination system:

Face real-name authentication before the exam: candidates need to enter their names and ID numbers, and then take photos and upload them. The system will compare them with the authoritative database data, and only after the certification is successful can they enter the exam.

Capturing invigilation regularly during the exam: This setting and real-time video invigilation of computer camera cannot be selected at the same time. The administrator can set the interval of taking pictures, the computer answering system will automatically take pictures, and the mobile answering system will pop up a photo reminder. Candidates can only continue to answer questions after taking photos and uploading them.
