How to store the camera if it is not used for a long time

1. We take good care of our cameras and try to put them in special photography bags. Many people think that it should be fine to put it in any ordinary bag, but this is not the case. Perhaps accidents occur that we don’t expect, such as hard or sharp objects coming into contact with the camera, etc.

2. The camera should be kept dry. It's okay in the north, but the environment in the south is relatively humid, so you need a moisture-proof cabinet in the south. If you are staying for a short time such as on a business trip or traveling, you can find a box or bag with better sealing and put desiccant in it.

3. It is not recommended to keep the camera in a pure leather bag for a long time. It doesn't matter if it has velvet, but under certain circumstances, some fungi may grow inside pure leather bags and corrode our cameras.

4. If the camera is not used for a long time, it is best to take it out and start it every once in a while, and operate every button.

5. The same is true for the lens, and it is recommended to prepare a UV protective goggle to prevent the lens from being scratched during use or movement. In addition, when wiping the lens, use a soft and delicate cloth to wipe it in a circular motion from the center to the edge.

6. When outdoors, especially when the weather is cold, condensation will occur. At this time, it is best not to wipe the lens and body. Put it in a warm environment and it will usually dry within an hour. If you wipe it, it will cause some problems.

7. If the battery is not used for a long time, take it out from the camera and save it. During the storage period, the battery cannot be completely discharged or fully charged. It only takes 15 minutes to charge some power in one or two months, so as not to cause excessive loss. If the camera is powered off for more than two months, the date and other settings will be cleared and need to be reset.
