Brief introduction of Shangyuan Art Museum

In recent years, with the diversified development of artistic creation, the freedom of China artists' living space and working space has also been greatly expanded. In the early 1990s, with Beijing artists as pioneers, many artists left the small and noisy "cubicles" in the city and went to the countryside. They came to Shan Ye and rural areas, and used their possible economic ability to buy land to build houses, or to buy idle old farmhouses for renovation. This phenomenon is more and more in the art circle, which has become a unique landscape in Beijing art circle and added a new atmosphere to Beijing, the ancient cultural capital.

At present, there are more than 60 artists (including poets, writers and scholars) living in Shangyuan Art Village, including famous sculptors, Sun Jiabo and Lu Benchang, famous critics Jia, Shi Mazi and Deng Pingxiang, and famous oil painters Du Jian, Yin, Feng Jiali, Xing Zheng, Li Jin, Shen Weiguang and Jia Xiang.

In 2000, Shangyuan artists successfully held a public exhibition in Shangyuan artists' studio. During the exhibition, famous critics such as Shui Tianzhong, Hong Xu, Lang, Yin Shuangxi were invited for academic exchanges. Due to the unique form of the exhibition, it has been publicized by more than ten media and newspapers such as CCTV, which has had a wide impact. In 2000, the Macao Artists Association invited artists from Shangyuan Art Village to hold an exhibition of artists' works to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region in Shangyuan Artists Village in Beijing, which attracted wide attention from all walks of life and the media in Macao.

In recent years, Shangyuan Painter Village has also held some influential cultural and artistic activities, such as the "Jingbei" poetry recitation initiated by Shangyuan poet, poetry critic and poet Sun, and invited dozens of contemporary active poets to participate. Shangyuan painters also attached importance to cultural exchanges, and once held an "experimental film viewing party" to invite famous film critic Cui Weiping to comment; At the same time, it has also held many networking activities in the literary and art circles. Zhou, a famous scholar, has participated in the activities of Shangyuan Art Village many times and has a close friendship with painters.
