What is the normal value of human blood sugar?

The main function of blood sugar in human body is to provide energy for the activities of various tissues and organs such as brain thinking, heart beating and muscle contraction. Under normal circumstances, fasting blood glucose is generally between 3.3 and 5.5 mmol/L, and blood glucose is generally between 4.4 and 7.7 2 hours after meals. The human body has a strict and complicated regulation mechanism to control blood sugar within the normal range. By measuring blood glucose, a commonly used blood biochemical index, we can know whether the metabolic regulation mechanism works normally. Generally, we use four internationally unified blood sugar critical values to judge, that is, 5.6, 7.0, 7.8, 1 1. 1 mmol per liter.

Only through the changes of blood sugar on an empty stomach and 2 hours after meals, the following nine situations will occur:

1. Blood sugar is normal. That is, by detecting plasma blood sugar, it is lower than 5.6 on an empty stomach and lower than 7.8 2 hours after meals;

2. Impaired fasting blood sugar. Only when the fasting is higher than 5.6 but lower than 7.0, it is normal after meals;

3. Impaired glucose tolerance. Only 2 hours after meals, the blood sugar was higher than 7.8 but lower than 1 1. 1, and the fasting was normal.

4. Combined glucose regulation is impaired. Impaired fasting blood glucose and impaired glucose tolerance;

5. Simple fasting hyperglycemia 1 type. Fasting blood sugar is higher than 7.0, but normal after meals;

6. Simple fasting hyperglycemia type 2. Fasting blood sugar is higher than 7.0, plus impaired glucose tolerance.

7. Hyperglycemia after simple load 1 type. Two hours after meal, the blood sugar was higher than 1 1. 1, but the fasting was normal.

8. Hyperglycemia type 2 after simple load. 2 hours after meal, the blood glucose was higher than 1 1. 1, and the fasting blood glucose was impaired;

9. Combined with hyperglycemia. Fasting blood glucose is higher than 7.0, and it is higher than 1 1. 1 2 hours after meals. This is the most common type of diabetic patients.

2, 3 and 4 cases are called pre-diabetes sub-health state, and 5 and 6 cases are relatively rare. If the re-examination results are similar on another day, it can be diagnosed as diabetes. 7 and 8 are more common in the elderly over 60 years old. If it is the result of oral glucose tolerance test on another day or similar results, it can also be diagnosed as diabetes.
