What is the grand occasion of cherry blossoms in Wuhan University?

On March 2017 10, cherry blossoms were in full bloom on Sakura Avenue of Wuhan University in Wuhan, Hubei Province, attracting many tourists to watch.

Tourists take a group photo on Sakura Avenue. The blooming cherry blossoms attract people to stop and take pictures.

The first batch of cherry trees were planted by the Japanese invaders on the campus of Wuhan University in 1939, and all of them died by the end of the 20th century. Previously, the Department of Landscape Architecture of Wuhan University took the first batch of cherry trees as the "female parent" for many times, and propagated the second and third generation cherry trees in large quantities through branch grafting.

1973, shortly after the resumption of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, the relevant departments donated a batch of Japanese sakura (also known as "Fukushima Sakura" and "Qingfu Sakura") to Wuhan University and planted them in front of the northern foot of Luojia Mountain.

1982, to commemorate the anniversary of Sino-Japanese friendship 10, Japan Friendship Association and Japan Xizhi Weaving Co., Ltd. presented Wuda 100 cherry seedlings. 1992 On the occasion of commemorating the 20th anniversary of Sino-Japanese friendship, Mr. Shoufu Shatian of China Hubei Friendship Association in Hiroshima, Japan presented 200 cherry saplings.

Nowadays, cherry saplings all over the campus of Wuhan University come from here, except those cultivated by garden workers themselves. There are a large number of tourists enjoying cherry blossoms every year in Wuda University, and tickets are needed to enjoy the flowers during the peak period.
