Cizhou area has a long history of firing ceramics and making porcelain. As early as 7500 years ago in the early Neolithic Age, the ancestors of Cizhou had been able to burn pottery. Red sand pottery and brown sand pottery were unearthed at the Neolithic site in Cishan, 20 kilometers north of Fengfeng. Archaeologists named this site magnetic mountain culture.

Xiangtangshan Grottoes have more than 30 large and small caves and more than 4,300 statues. Beixiangtang Grottoes are located on the stone wall halfway up the mountain on the west side of Gushan, and there are three groups of caves. The Giant Buddha Cave is large in scale, with a height, width and depth of about12m.
