Hero Trio 2: The Executioner

Plot introduction

This film is a sequel to the Hero Trio and Takeshi Kaneshiro's first screen movie. Three top Hong Kong actresses had to compete with each other in kung fu, and even supporting actors Liu Qingyun and Huang Qiusheng were movie stars at that time. The story tells that Dongdong and Xin Jing were trained as chivalrous women by a martial arts expert. When Xin Jing was ten years old, he was taken away by a hundred-year-old eunuch, Chen Gonggong, who washed away his memory and became a vicious killer. Chen Qi, who has the same fate as her, escaped bad luck and became a female catcher specializing in catching fugitives. In order to get rid of my father-in-law's clutches, Chen Qi, Dongdong and Xin Jing went straight into the forbidden area to fight with my father-in-law.

Each link is a temporary film series: director Du Qifeng, action designer Cheng Xiaodong (assistant director Lin Dian), photographer Hang-Sang Poon, and music Hu Weili, starring Maggie Cheung, Anita Mui, Yang Ziqiong, Liu Songren, Huang Qiusheng and Qin Pei. If such an action director and such a cast can't occupy a place in the history of Hong Kong films, it can only be said that the director is probably Jing Wong or Tsui Hark. However, this series of Du Qifeng is more like John Woo's style, with heroic music, elegant movements and full shapes. Although the protagonist is three women, "Once upon a time in America" is no less than a hero series.

Interestingly, just because the protagonist is a woman, in addition to the true nature of women, the side of affection and love is also gentle and touching. This adds a touch of charm to the bones of the hero trio series, just offsetting the strong hostility brought by bloodthirsty. Compared with the Hero Trio, Charlie Hebdo, which Hollywood invested heavily a few years later, is nothing to mention. In terms of personality charm, it is worse than one grade. Or simply put, Charlie Hebdo sells the word Charlie Hebdo, which is full of coquettish and sexy bullets, and because western blockbusters lack a lot of mystery and eschatology, the so-called "simple mind and developed limbs" refers to this series of Americans.

Cheng Xiaodong's action design can't be calculated by ordinary physics (in fact, only part of Donnie Yen's design is really reasonable), and he is one of the most famous martial arts fingers who like to hang "Weiya", so it is foreseeable that the three girls in the East will come and go without a trace. On the other hand, compared with other works, his martial arts design in these two films does not have much breakthrough and innovation, but is performed by women, with richer body language.

In the first part, my father-in-law is an old demon, played by Ren Shiguan. This actor has an unruly backbone, and because of his vicissitudes, many roles are somewhat sad. The most typical one is Yan Zhendong in Huang Feihong's first film. He is obsessed with martial arts, but he doesn't know why he wants to practice martial arts. He is obsessed with personal fame and fortune, but he can't see the overall situation of the country. The final outcome is very sad and pathetic. Since then, I have never seen such a tragic villain in the Huang Feihong series. People are talking about the double dragon meeting when men are constantly striving for self-improvement. Besides, Ren Shiguan's performance of Feng Xifan in The Duke Of Mount Deer of Xingye is unforgettable.

Few Hong Kong films can capture the magic and eschatological temperament like The Hero Trio and The Legend of Modern Heroes. The so-called "magic" of the ever-changing machine is to completely copy the coat of Europe and America, and there is no poor imitation of local personality. However, the scene design in the Hero Trio, which blurs the background of the times and mixes the past and the future, does reveal the flavor of magic. As for the biography of modern heroes, it abandons the past and completely constructs the scene into a virtual era of science fiction. Many story routines are too simple, which are dwarfed by similar foreign films (such as blade runner). Therefore, when it comes to originality and the purity of oriental culture, Hero Trio is authentic and more enjoyable.

Stories like Three Women can be described as "legends". The legend of urban martial arts is rare in Hong Kong films. Speaking of me, what impressed me the most was The Black Mask directed by Li Rengang. In fact, in the cement forest where good and evil are confused and human nature is gloomy, it is even more necessary to have a hero to establish the long-lost ideal human nature, which is also the significance of urban martial arts films, that is, to shape a traditional river and lake belonging to citizens. Nowadays, Hong Kong-made movies have more or less abandoned this ideal and embarked on the type of gang warfare, which is either black supremacy or ambiguous despair. Aliens such as the hero trio and the black mask have become elusive dreams. Compared with post-modern heroes, Hero Trio has a more pure Jianghu temperament under the modern cloak, and the combination of tradition and modernity is more perfect. The artistic achievement of this film is obviously higher.

Yang Ziqiong is unfortunate in both his works, and his fate is bleak. In the previous film, I was not only lonely since I was a child, but also lost my beloved boyfriend. Finally, he was possessed by an old demon and almost died. The latter is more thorough and has no emotional nourishment from beginning to end. Finally, more importantly, die with the ultimate BOSS. Anita Mui, by contrast, is much happier, while Maggie Cheung once again plays a provocative but smooth and timid role, which is similar to the gold inlaid jade she played in the new Longmen Inn. The resurrection of the old demon at the end of Hero Trio obviously draws lessons from the special effects design of Terminator.
