Postscript to this article

In the 1950s, we walked into the magical and mysterious Xinjiang with the song "Our Good Place in Xinjiang".

As guerrillas during the construction of New China, we have only one purpose in going to Xinjiang. This is what is sung in the "Song of the Exploration Team": "We are full of infinite hope to find rich resources for our motherland." ”

In the past 50 years, we, together with the vast number of geologists, have traveled across the land of Xinjiang, crossed mountains and deserts, faced cold winds and rains, and experienced countless hardships and obstacles in the battle to explore for treasures. Discover treasure troves one after another and explore the secrets of Xinjiang. The deepest impression given to us by many years of prospecting life is: Xinjiang is a treasure land of the motherland that has yet to be developed. How magical and mysterious the secret of the underground treasure is!

This treasure land has attracted the attention of our country’s leaders. As early as 1920, Dr. Sun Yat-sen said that Xinjiang “has such vast sources of wealth, which have not yet been exploited, and can be a land for us to develop our business. The hope for our country’s future is endless.” After the founding of New China, our country Party and state leaders have inspected Xinjiang many times, especially the Xinjiang Geology and Minerals Museum. They passionately praised Xinjiang as a treasure land to be developed in the motherland, and proposed to develop Xinjiang and build Xinjiang into one of the most important bases for my country's economic construction in the 21st century. . Especially in recent years, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have clearly stated that Xinjiang must accelerate the implementation of a market-oriented strategy of converting advantageous resources, focus on cultivating and developing characteristic industries, and focus on building oil and natural gas mining and processing supply bases, coal development reserves, and coal bed methane development Utilize the base as a mining and processing base for other urgently needed mineral resources in the country.

This treasure land has aroused the interest of many people at home and abroad. Whether it is people living in Xinjiang, people from the mainland of the motherland who come to Xinjiang, or even people from foreign countries who come to Xinjiang, they often go to Xinjiang’s geology and mineral resources. Go visit the museum. The rich treasures in Xinjiang are breathtaking, and the mystery of the treasures makes people yearn for and explore.

What is the basic appearance of the underground treasures in this treasure land, what are the prospects, and what are the unsolved mysteries? These are issues that people are very concerned about. Interpreting these issues is an important aspect of popularizing scientific knowledge of geological and mineral resources. It is an important aspect of promoting Xinjiang and has certain significance for the development of Xinjiang and the modernization of the motherland. However, there is still a gap in this aspect in Xinjiang popular science books. Therefore, when we participated in the compilation of the "Xinjiang Geology and Mineral Resources Popular Science Book", we deeply felt that this was a glorious and arduous task.

The underground treasures in Xinjiang are so magical and mysterious. For thousands of years, people have put in a lot of effort to solve these mysteries, and there are still many unsolved mysteries. Scientific research is a process of solving puzzles. The book is titled "Exploring the Mysteries of Xinjiang's Underground Treasures", indicating that it is an exploration. This is just as the world's great scientist Einstein said: "I only want to be satisfied with the eternal mystery of life, to be satisfied with the mysterious composition of the existing world, to catch a glimpse of their claws, and to make sincere efforts to understand the mysterious structures that appear in nature." I will be satisfied if even a small part of the mystery comes out. "If our understanding of Xinjiang's underground treasures in this book can be of some help to readers, we will be very happy.
